Questions raised about sailors' story after months stranded at sea

By Euan McKirdy, Rebecca Wright and Ivan Watson, CNN - CNN - 1 November, 2017

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/10/31/asia/pacific-sailors-jennifer-appel-tasha-fuiava-questions/index.html

Some quotes:

Okinawa, Japan (CNN)The two women from Hawaii who say they were lost at sea had an emergency beacon on the ship that was not activated during their roughly five months at sea, a Coast Guard spokeswoman tells CNN.

Storm that never happened?

Further confusion about the two women's story also arose when they claimed to have been battered by a strong storm at the beginning of their months at sea.

The two women say they set out from Hawaii on May 3, and the transcript of their interview with the Navy quotes Appel as saying that "on the first night" they encountered a "force 11 storm," which they battled for the following two nights and three days.

However, Norman Hui, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Honolulu told CNN there were "no organized storm systems near the Hawaiian Islands on the dates of May 3, 2017 or the few days afterward."

Damn.

Rimas got bested by two lesbians and a couple dogs.

Stupid knows no bounds....

Once again my fellow shit talkers, this thread is dead.
Hmmm. Don't think Rimas (Ohey!) got breasted yet. When those girls accomplish an Aleutian style lawn dart, sink a few dinghys and let their anchor rode chafe through they will still be but shadows of the master.

We don't know truthful details yet. I suspect there was a great deal of Rimasesque incompetence during their 'voyage'.

This thread constitutes the world's longest epitaph.

If we witness a Rimas resurrection I'll become one of his disciples and proselytize on his behalf on other sailing fora.
Fuck it!

ALL HAIL RIMAS, THE ARCH-DRIFTER, BLAGGER EXTRAORDINAIRE, COCKROACH OF THE OCEANS. BOW DOWN TO TO HIM, PAY HOMAGE AND WORSHIP HIS INEFFABLE GOD GIVEN TALENT FOR SURVIVING WHEN LESSER MORTALS WOULD DIE.

Could this story being told by the two women and their dogs be a cunning plan hatched by the enabelers to rehabilitate Rimas in the eyes of saiors the world over.

Can we get the CIA to see if there has been contacts between the women and Jean. et al.

Is lil Murray involved?

Dang I gota lay off the strong rum and stick to painkillers

so while she was poledancing up the mast, leaving the helm in the hands of a complete novice, she saw that a spreader had blown its bolt and at that point just decided to lay back and take whatever.  Yep, there is enough for a B grade movie  right there.  Throw in a tow by the same Russian submarine that towed Capitano Rimas, and the world is agog in wonderment at what can be achieved by turning ones back on convention and capitalistic greed....  ho hum.

I think the broken spreader bolt has morphed into a broken (but visibly intact) backstay.

Possibly because someone pointed out that a non-working engine is a great source of spare bolts.
