also for the Bay Area a trip around the islands is a must, I had to crewed races cancel because of too much wind (30+)

Splash the boat, sail the boat, spend many weekends on my boat revisiting places on the Chesapeake that I visited as a youngun on my parents boats.

A long distance race like Transpac or Vic-Maui - probably on someone else's program / boat. I have only done a few overnighters.
A world championship - I have done 4 in 4 different classes - and would like to do another, they are just so much fun and incredible learning opportunities.
A charter in the Med - did Tahiti a couple years ago and that was the first charter I had done. Best holiday ever.
A restoration project - maybe I already have that - but I'd like to restore a boat to it's former glory.

Hope not to go broke, just bought a new to me Mirage 27, to keep on the Great Lakes, and keeping, till I run out of money, my CS36 on the wet coast.

If all goes well, I should be checking the Trans-Superior this year. I'm so stoked for this race.

N2E is an awesome race, Mac race is also awesome ( done both Macs and N2E). Would love to do the Bermuda and Transpac.
I found a certificate (attached is not the one from my father but exactly the same) that my father received while in the military and crossed over the 180th Meridian. My father was not a water person, he must have been pretty nervous on that journey.

1) Sail on a J class yacht.
Any of them will do, as they are all gorgeous bots, but Ranger or Endeavour would be my first choices. Ranger because she's the best ever J, Endeavour because she's the prettiest J ever. They are all beautiful, almost by definition, in my opinion the most beautiful class of boats ever built. Endeavour is brightest of those stars.

4) Be in Sydney during the JJ Gitlinan to watch it live. (No longer able to envision racing in it.)
5) Race or at least sail something, anything, on Lake Garda.

Out of curiosity, which classes for worlds? Your handle makes me think the Star might be one of them. I've always liked the look of Stars, and the Euros at Lake Garda from a year or two ago is no small part of why the idea of Lake Garda made my list.
I also grew up tangentially around Stars as they were one of the three classes at the yacht club my uncles raced their e-scow at when I was growing up. I would race with them when I was visiting, and although I loved the e-scow, and still do, but I did also like the lines of the star. Plus it was still an Olympic class back then.

Done most things, mainly cruising. Looking at three summers - North Channel via Trent-Severn one way, Newfoundland, NYC-Bermuda for a last time. Then to a daysailer of a special, not too-expensive type, perhaps a converted Etchells. Would love a J100 but too pricey. Sail on the daysailer into my 80s (turn 73 this summer). Probably shouldn't mention this but lots of land travel.

depends on your age, if you are young you can build a sailing resume and spend time in Oz crewing before trying to get on a boat. Im 60 and I think I have one or two more Hawaii races in me.
