I thought Johny Mo(ran) made them in Eastport, for North, with fire-retardant cloth supplied by NASA.The North Sails loft on Kent Island makes storage lockers for the Space Station out of sailcloth IIRC.Back in the day astronauts took a boatpole to Skylab to push a solar array into place.
