Sailing Videos ALL Suck

Am I the only one that thinks that every sailing video produced in the last 10 years looks exactly the same?  Note to producers - showing me slow-motion shots of someone PREPARING to go sailing isn't dramatic, it's inane.  Here's Johnny Bigboat walking down the dock (in slow motion), here he is doing a rig check (in slow motion), talking about what kit to wear (in slow motion).  Please fucking stop.

And, if you have to show me shots of sailing in fast-motion, that just means you didn't have enough wind.  

C'mon, try to be at least a little creative.

This drives me absolutely nuts. We get 1/100th of a second of a TP52 set or douse then a cut to another 1/100th of a second of different boat with some arms flailing, or 1/100th of a second of a cat foiling then another 1/100th of a second of another cat from a different direction. Why can't we see a full thirty seconds of a mark rounding or close cross or something?

ALL sail videos suck? Is that why you offer no links to an example of how it SHOULD be done? Or is it because you just think that sailing is not a subject worthy of capturing and editing? Then why are you in a Sailing forum? Or are you just complaining to complain?

In May every year there's a regatta on the Douarnenez bay in Brittany (north west France) where all the pro race teams get together for some fun. From Kite boarders, to class 40's, multi 50's, IMOCA, etc. its an insane event in a tiny fishing town. This video is from the 2006 edition. I love it! :
