Here is an all electric launch designed by Tim Nolan.  Easy and quiet cruising at sailboat speeds of 5-6 knots and clean wake.  WOT it can do 7.2 knots with a huge wake.  Range of 40+ miles.  Bow opens and a ramp can help guests onboard from a beach.

Being from New England, I had never heard of "Garvey's" that I recall?  Funny thing, I recall less and less as time goes by!  

Google says they are from the Great Lakes, and shame on me, there are some on exhibit at the nearby Mystic Seaport Museum!!  The square scow bow reminds me of the local work, and fishing boats designed and built by Earl Brockway in Old Saybrook, CT.  Earl passed many years ago, but you still see some of his old scows plying the local waterways.....
