Does anyone remember a yacht that was racing in 1986/7 called Sankavic? (Possibly spelled slightly differently) I'm new to sailing so please forgive me when I say I think it was 6m - but I don't know anything else about it apart from that it was presumably yacht-shaped... I know it used to race against a yacht called French Kiss, but not *that* one.

I realise that this is a bit of a wishy-washy post and I apologise, but I'm trying to research the yacht as a thank you to an old family friend - unfortunately she doesn't know enough for me to go straight to any particular archive. Any information, or ideas on where to look, would be hugely appreciated - I'm ploughing through old yachting magazines in the British Library but they seem primarily America's Cup focused, not to mention mostly full of adverts!

Knowing where she may have raced would likely be a big help.

Your best bet is to find out with what yacht club or sailing organization the owners were affiliated. Then you can search their archives and old race results.

Thank you both for your suggestions. All I know is that they were in Southern France at one point, and may have sailed in a Rolex-sponsored Regatta, but I can't see one that makes sense thus far. Will persevere with enquiries!
