Not in person, but I have checked in with them on the wwweb a bunch...... this seems like a really cool little boat. Not a super-hot hot rod but with some pep. Very good looking boat, from what I've seen. Sometimes boats and people look much better on camera than in person, or much worse. But video generally shows a range of angles and captures more of reality.has anyone seen one sailing?
we got one here on the Hudson River...it's the Cruise model...pin head main not the square top of the race modelNot in person, but I have checked in with them on the wwweb a bunch...... this seems like a really cool little boat. Last time I corresponded with Saphire, they were "working on plans" to bring them to the US. I take that to mean they're looking for somebody to sink the money into buying two or three plus shipping, and might have some prospects or might not

Cool! We go up there often enough that I might get a chance to see it.... do you know what club? Have you seen it sailing enough to have an idea how good/not-so-good it is?we got one here on the Hudson River...it's the Cruise model...pin head main not the square top of the race model
Here is a comparison review from 2014.Nyack Boat Club...I have not seen it sailing....one of the reasons i'm asking if anyone has...read its comparable to the seascape 27 but better in the light air than the Seascape
Did you find out anything about what they are doing (or what they did) with the moulds? Is the boat really still available for sale? I am also interested in the boat... unfortunately I live in Italy, not in the USA or in Canada...A few months ago, the Saphire website said the molds were for sale which was a concern. But there is no mention of that now and the boat is still available for sale on the webpage. I'm really interested in this boat. If anyone else is interested too, please contact me. Perhaps we could work with Saphire and get a good deal on shipping and a fleet discount. If the owner of the boat on the Hudson is on SA, perhaps let us know how the boat is?
It is a destiny common to many similar boats: Saphire 27, Reacher 780, Elan 210, Skippi 750, Rossoragno RR28... Bente 24 will perhaps survive...I would say the molds will maybe turn up, in half to a year and if not snapped up after liquidation fire sale , will be crushed like so many before.....all that work, for a brief time in the world.....
Did you ever try to go below deck of the Saffier 27?...well then, if you can't get an american Saphire27, you might opt for the european one, it's a real gem, but as gems go ... at a price
that Sir, now that is a very acute observation, wink, grin, congrats. Those are photos of SAFFIER 27 not of SAPHIRE 27; they are totally different boats
I guess that's a matter of perspective isn't it...that's the curse of just about any daysailor, another euro-crap option
Exactly.I guess that's a matter of perspective isn't it...
That's exactly what I hate about other options, tons of standing headroom, slow and boring as hell... And that headroom is damn expensive to boot.
How much room does a day sailor need anyway? You are there for the day only, as per it's title...
No wonder cars are also getting huge and uninspiring.
