Scooter's Podca$t: what's it worth?

I was a big fan of Scooter's videos back in the day. Well edited and great commentary. I fear with Podcasting, the opportunity to ramble and bramble to eat up clock time might temp Ed Almighty to stray from script. Real question is "why podcasting and why now?". Certainly, SA needs some help remaining relevant. The occasional FP fluff, stale forums and slow adverts hardly make a compelling ezine. If you want content, read your weekly update from Craig.

So how long before the Podca$t goes premium? You know, the well trotted path of freemium to begin with only to morph into a paywall and Patron? Honestly, how many of you pervs slam down the credit card when the little filly you're following on Instagram incites you with the promise of some hereto unrevealed skin...for a price? Precious few, I suspect. Anyway, good on you for eating up more of my precious time.

Well, as is normal, it's all about Scot.

It's a bit maudlin and certainly too introspective but, me being only slightly older, his take on the aging issues rings pretty close to home.

So if you're in the neighborhood of 70 years old and feel yourself sort of winding down, sure, have a listen...

You can watch Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg for free and get the same moronic rants if you want. He dosnt bring anything to the table but a trail of broken marriages and relationships surrounded by doom and unmitigated failure. I suspect the few quid he got for this site has probably run out facing college tuitions and he needs to find a job. Otherwise, its great!

Well if I didn't feel like a senior citizen before the podcast I certainly do afterwards. Scooter is having deep withdrawal pains from his youth.

Seems like anyone can and does have a podcast now. Most that I have heard are pretty boring with people chatting about stupid things that matter to them only. I wish Ed well making this something that won't put too many of us to sleep.

I just listened to both podcasts. Not overly masturbatory. Was worth my time at 1.5 speed. I'll listen to the next.

W/regard to old racers: I picked sailboat racing over stuff like motocross and cars in the early '80s when I was about 23 because I looked around and saw that the best racers were 'old', it made sense that serious people would get better w/age, and crew tended to migrate aft with experience/age so physicality would lessen with age. Was a good decision. Of course, the 'old' racers I knew back then were typically --- but not exclusively --- more like 50 and only a couple were upwards of 70.

Well put, I started as a kid but knew it would be a lifelong endeavor.

Having just turned 68, I take umbrage with Scooters lament turning 66. Fucking youngster...you barely qualify for SS, much less the nursing home. The move to the J/105 will only confirm your genius to the saying "Sail Fast, Live Slow".
