Starboard!
Are you just stripping back the damaged areas or taking all the coating off? What kinda scraper do you use for the stripping? It's doing a nice job.
I’m stripping off the top of the coamings and cockpit trim using a 2” scraper. I’ve used a planer blade and a heat gun in the past, but find it’s easier to pull scrape this Awlwood. I’ll sand with 320 and see how lust varnish works out and report back. It got too cold to work yesterday but I got all the PO’s drips along the underside of the toe rail on the inside which I’ve been avoiding for a decade.

With apologies to Rick Rodriguez for the black humour, here he is showing his boat, Raindancer, which sunk moments before the pic, not sailing. I know, that’s bad. But it’s macabre, black humour funny…

There is a cool sailboat in Elliot Bay (Seattle) named White Wing. Saw her up close (never aboard) in Cortes Bay. I always liked how she looked.
Your new boat is very nice!
I think she's a cool boat too! She is still ours and lives at Elliott Bay - we're racing this weekend Center Sound Series. If you happen by I'd be more than happy to show you around and contribute to your beer fueled mayhem!

Nice! Would love a look at her!
I was thinking this was you. Saw White Wing Saturday when I took the fishing boat out for a bit of a leg stretch. Did the SYC thing at EBM and had brunch.

We are racing as well! J109 (blue hull). SpyHop. Owner hasn't put the name on her yet. Newish boat for him. I'll look for you.

Today I went to my boat for the first time since she was laid up last fall. I somehow managed to herniate a disc in my back, so the yard basically put the boat away, from soup to nuts. She's been shrink-wrapped up tight since.

The temps hit 60 today, so I went over to visit my baby and see what she looks like inside. Wotta mess. The deck had the inevitable bootprints from the workers who built the shrinkwrap frame, and there was sawdust about. But I was not happy with the state of things below. Everything is piled up, including the sails, all over the cabin. I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture.

Lots of work to be done. Good thing I live less than two miles from the marina.

Went down to my boat to sail today out of Haleiwa Harbor. I noticed that the slip I've been waiting for on one of the floating docks finally came open. The temporary user's boat was sitting at a fixed dock ready to be hauled out. The harbor master previously told me to move right in as soon I saw it vacant. We went for a nice sail first then moved in. Being on the floating dock is far less stressful during big surf season on the North Shore of Oahu. As an added bonus the power boat next is us is owned by a friend who runs a security company. His guys drive through the harbor every hour or two 7 days a week.
