How many times has Congress "raided" Social Security funds for other uses???

"(MoneyWatch) Since we're in political sound-bite season, let's address a misconception that's often repeated by pundits and political candidates alike: Congress raided the Social Security trust fund and spent it on their own pork-barrel projects."

.
They actually don't take any money out of SS. They just use it to cover up the rest of the deficit.

The original SS no longer exists other than name only. All the secured funds were plundered and replaced with words

No, they were replaced with "meaningless pieces of paper" and "IOUs that we owe ourselves" and "all Social Security is just a Ponzi scheme" and similar bullshit.

Or, perhaps you can cite just when (and who) cashed the SS bonds (which are unique) and took the trainloads of money elsewhere?

Well “safe” is not accurate
It has been plundered and abused
In car payment terms it
“Is upside down “
Solely because of the malfeasance of the US Congress
To say it is safe means that the US Congress will continue to kick the can down the road with deficit spending for fear of becoming the national Bernie Madoff
Unfunded liabilities are a huge problem for the US...G7

But he just "knows" it's true. Because he's seeing weird shit like this all the time.

IIRC Whole Foods was bought by a HUGE conglomerate, right? So, the formerly progressive founders of it have been replaced by "bottom line only" regressive GOP-ers who believe that only the cream of the management crop should share the cream of the profits; certainly not the lowly front line workers, they are just proletariat peons to the Masters of the Board Room. Therefore only worth Minimum Wage, unless they can slave their way to a better position someday in the distant future...

EDIT - I was curious as I couldn't remember who bought out Whole Foods, but no surprise it was Amazon!!!

"Jeff Bezos has had to do “nothing more” than pay $13.7 billion to take over a supermarket chain like Whole Foods, with 462 stores in three countries (USA, UK and Canada) and 91,000 employees. 13,700 M$ that allow it to enter the world of large-scale distribution fully, and to be able to “test” all its ideas and innovations in one of the largest markets in the world: the food market."

"meaningless pieces of paper" oh you mean the pieces of paper you have in your wallet, that are backed by a Mystical Being "In God we trust"
I remember the gold/silver coins and dollars, (Thanks POTUS Nixon)
the native Americans at least used;

Seashell-derived wampum was Massachusetts' first legal currency, and continued to be used and respected as currency throughout northeastern America, even into the nineteenth century.

Gotta increase productivity, always, no matter the costs.

I was tracking an Amazon delivery the other day. First showed he was 9 stops away, and his map location. A bit later he was 3 stops away, and each time it showed where he was on the map. When he was in my driveway it still showed him a mile away, so must be some lag time....

Yawn. Making sure that drugs actually do what the seller claims it does, without causing harm has nothing to do with your body, your choice. It has to do with regulating the marketplace.

No one is saying it should be illegal for you to drink some arsenic tonight. Have at it. We are saying it’s illegal for you to sell ineffectual bad drugs.
