You gotta toil your life away, making money for our corporate overlords.
Other than that, you can live your life as you please.
Because of capitalism, virtually no one "toils" anymore, other than professional atheletes.

In some countries (for example, the Scandinavian countries) everything related to utilities and health care is successfully connected with the government. But if we compare it with other countries, then at least we have good quality medicine ... But yes) Mix is good)
We (WHO?) have the best quality medicine, if you can afford it, Case in point Insulin worldwide around $10, US $100. We pay the most but our life age is one of the worst?

It’s expensive because of K Street and bipartisan corruption. Insulin could be made at home.
For the first time, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is allowing a cheaper knock-off of an expensive brand-name insulin to be substituted for the original.

Interesting fun fact, my wife also reads book and likes one author lately, so we drive 30 miles round trip to a bookstore, Barnes and Noble, She ask the salesperson where the book was, He told her to order it on Amazon. she did and it was there in a day. Would have saved time and gas money. and it was cheaper!
another quick Amazon story, I tried to break the habit of shopping online, I need a Fuel filter, for my Volvo Penta, I go to a dealer $20 and a week,
drove around PBC (auto places) $10 and 10 days, Had the Fram #, went on my phone to amazon $5 and there the next day. I was out sailing by noon!
When you shop the Amazon convenience, you support an anti-union, worker-hostile company. There is no question that they are convenient, that is their business model. What is the point of starting a thread like this without being aware of Amazon's and While Foods' tactics?

You are So full of shit. You clearly don't live in ag areas.

And I suppose having to hold multiple jobs to make ends meet isn't toiling either.

Every time you open your mouth you embarrass yourself.

Somewhat true, but as I said before, we are unwittingly and slowly being trained as to what our needs are. Would one really choose a couch like this if we weren't told we liked it?

4 couches, 4 different manufactures.
great choice.
Now couch choice may be a trivial example, but the same thing is everywhere. crappy shows from netflix "chosen" for us by a matrix?
We are being subtly forced to conform. Resistance is getting to be exhausting.
Fucking internet "influencers" hey we even admire these people and "follow" them. (well not personally)
I only noticed how bad it was in "the modern world" when living on a small island for months.
7 different tiny minimarkets with limited choice in each, but infinitely more brand variety.

Why? Capitalism. It's forced it individual manufacturer out of the game. And we did it to ourselves.
Fortunately for my sanity, there's always OP shops and hard rubbish.

Capitalism is neither good nor bad, unless you happen to be invested in hating or living it. If you don't like what is offered, change the game by not spending your money on it. As @billy backstay noted, that fabric discarded could put money into a needy person's pocket while you want to put the person who discarded it in front of a firing squad. That person shared his or her wealth.

There is a downside to competition, and not just the typical 'runaway billionaire' argument.

A 100 IQ is average. That means that ~10% of the people that you run into have an IQ of less than 80. In the United States, that's 30 million people, of which, approximately 7 million are children. Society disproportionally rewards intelligence - IQ and luck are two of the best predictors of financial success. That's the 'good part' as you mention above. But what do you do with your 10%? The US has one of the largest prison populations in the world at 2 million and, in the US is typically 5th in overall spending at the various levels of governance. And 2 million is less than 10% of that 10%.

No society, ever, has been able to endure a truly 'free' system - because people, unlike sports teams, don't just say 'aw shucks' and go home when they lose out. Folks with 80 IQ can stab with knives and shoot guns just as well as folks with 120 IQs. And historically, the 120 IQ folks ended up hiring the 80 IQ folks for just that reason. Better to have them working for me than against me.

So, societies DO pay folks to do jobs they don't need all the time because at least it keeps folks from killing/stealing from their neighbors. Because they will. Either hire them or kill them. That's just a truth of society for as long as there has been society.

Here is an interesting video on Socialism, Watch, listen, learn, We Americans accuse many countries as Socialistic, they are not,
You would think to a point that capitalistic corporations would be more social, as a happy health worker is a productive worker.

I'm not a big fan of the Scandinavian aguement for a couple of reasons. As the author says - these countries aren't 'socialist' systems, they're capitalistic systems with "socialistic inclinations" - which is really just linguistic legerdemain at its foundation.

Scandinavia is also a collection of wealthy largely extraction economies, mono-ethnic (i.e., white), and are christian-centric. So all the arguments about Scandinavia = Good also apply to "Extraction Economies" = good, Christian-Centric governance = good, and Diversity = bad, which makes it a KKK Clan Leader's vision of Utopia. So yea! I'd rather come up with a different term than continually try and re-define 'socialism'.

Hmm..do you consider the hamburger you toss in the bin for the homeless to fish out as sharing your wealth too?
You were the one who described thousands of dollars worth of perfectly good cloth. Now you liken that same cloth to a moldy hamburger? The same cloth over which you want to execute someone?

No, we have the market to thank for that.

If you don't like your $20/hour job at Amazon, find something else. See how easy that was?

The biggest problem with capitalism is people thinking money and goods are the capital. Humans, workers are the capital and most are exploited for the gain of a few.
