Son of a Sailor Needs Your Help

Becky and Ed Furry (Sail22) are well known on the midwest and east coast for their service and work for supporting one design racing. In addition to the usual pro services they provide, Ed helps manage and run many sailing events. Frankly without their help, much of our one-design sailing would not happen. As nice a solid American family as you will find. Ed/Becky, being independent owners, suffer from our dysfunctional medical system. Whan insurance they can afford, of course, doesn't cover what they need.

This is where you, and the community, can collectively step up and help. Let's rally around Cole Furry and get this kid back to the playground where he belongs.

I just need to add that I know about what Cole is going through. It would be great if the conventional medical system would address this issue of autoimmune/ Lyme/ MCAS and a host of other related diseases, but they are not. This group of illnesses are in epidemic proportions. It seems the insurance companies are not in a hurry to acknowledge the problem so no money is being allocated for research. Nobody wants to go outside of their insurance plan and the conventional medical community but these sick (mostly) kids are left with no alternative.

Any word on how Cole is doing?

Regards,
M
Yes, if you follow his dad Sail22 on FB he stated Cole is recovering nicely and they now have a specialist who has identified the immuno issues and they are planning for treatment. The family's issue is our whacky healthcare system that allows insures to decline coverage of "experimental" treatments. Apparently this is a huge health issue for millions? and is not addressed. The dad even stated he hates going outside the insurer, but has no choice. He's a self-employed owner and one man show.
