I took my niece and her French husband sailing yesterday. At 12:00 PM the water was glassy, so we had lunch. By the time we finished we had 8+ knots from the south.
I inflicted sailing terms on them, so Sébastien taught me some of the French equivalents. I learned that starboard is tribord and port is bâbord. In two years of H.S. French and one year in college, I never learned lancer la vache as in:

Spring is indeed here.
Picked up LAGNIAPPE at the shipwright on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on Tuesday after her annual maintenance, which this year included varnish on all brightwork. Spent the rest of the week cleaning old sealant off of hardware and fasteners, polishing, and reinstalling with fresh Lifecaulk.
Rigged the boat in the driveway to make sure all of the bits were still there and in the right places, ran the outboard in a bucket with fresh fuel, loaded her with all my camping gear, and buttoned everything back up for transport. I’ll drive to Fernandina Beach, Florida tomorrow, launch Sunday morning, and spend four days exploring Cumberland Sound and the St. Mary’s River.

Yeah, been there except it was in Australia and they let me go home to self-isolate after 10 days confinement. I was fully vaxed & 2 negative tests at the time, made zero difference. Rulez R rulez.

Not all pleasant yesterday, lots of wind and cool temps. This morning, 38 (Yikes that’s a winter time low here). But it warmed up nicely. Cleaned the teak on Anna, got in a nice ride and enjoyed a nice afternoon. Tomorrow, I think Spring might finally arrive (High Temps in the 80’s and 70’s for the foreseeable future, Finally.). But wait, Easter is next Sunday and we always have a cold snap just before Easter.

Yeah. I got out at the right time. The CCP is what the cool kids that are going places join. I had a junior AP accountant once that was a member and she would get teased like "How were you able to join?"
YouTube, any googl products and most media is blocked, so the ability of my VPN to work was key to avoiding insanity. Strangely, illegal pirate bittorents worked fine.

Thanks Bull, I never knew that. Seems like the black version The Big Rock Candy Mountain. I remember hearing that on the radio as a kid and never really paid attention to the lyrics but there are cigarette trees and alcohol springs from rocks, etc there. I don't think that would fly on the air these days.
