I'm seeking the collective wisdom from SA to help my club find a coach/instructor for generally the summer months. We are located on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City and will likely have around 200 students come through. They will be mostly learning/training on Optis, Picos and 420s with a smattering of kids bringing their family beach cats. There are 2 or 3 experienced assistant coaches returning but they need someone to build and execute the training plan. This is a paid position that could start as early as April or as late as mid-May.
This is essentially weekly sailing camp. Some of the sailors are very experienced and some have never been on a boat. There is a strong core of parents who are very involved as well as the Youth Committee from the Oklahoma City Boat Club.
What is the thought on the best place to find a coach for this role? Thanks for your assistance with this!
