I see 3 phases so far in this thing:Sir, the idiot in this thread is Doog.
The people in this thread (some, maybe not so much the reddits) live and breathe sailing. We are not here as off the street people. So when someone says "omfg Doog did this" it is not likely out of hate, but experience. Like when I told Doog his wiring met NO naval standards and the vessel would not be insurable to haul researchers around. And that's just the beginning sir.
A constructive conversation would be how Seekers finances will work while offshore given the 501c3. That's where you could add your input instead of insults.

1. Basic build on the hard, with outside funding and 501c setup.
2. Splash and move to salt water, mv sea (river) trials.
3. Having reached salt water, rig sails and sv sea trials.
Actions speak louder than words. It appears having reached phase 3 he, and now his $ advisor, are worried men, facing the reality of this whole situation. It is a long way to the Antilles, to reach an invited research project contrived by a board director. Rather incestuous. Waves and wind along the way. In general the Captain has trended dark with more controlling of the available info getting out, ie the reddit stuff. The path tracking is dark for a few days lately. I am no shrink but it seems he is a narcissist who needs to always be in control and right trying to show everything is going fine and as planned, or if not it is fixable. The "sailing" video speaks volumes. The absence of video of actual sailing matching the marine motion tracking record is suspect. It is easy to generate video of a sv moving through water under sail, especially with a drone and tender available, yet that video fails to do it. An effort aided by a foundation director. Dreadlocks says 1 knot in 4 knot winds achieved. No comment on currents. The foundation of his status as 501c, and ultimate ability to deliver as promised, is showing more cracks and issues are poking up under the rug - insurance, performance, inspections, certifications, crew and researcher acccomodations, seaworthiness, mv range, etc. The $ lawyer is arguing at length here about this that and the other thing. I reckon this site has alerted them to some of his fundamental errors in the build, yet the Captain and $ individual would never admit to same. He may realize when encountering wind and waves, sea conditions he cannot control once leaving port, some shit ain't fixable. That video may be an attempt at pleasing and assuring donors all is proceeding and progressing well towards research in the Lesser Antilles, or perhaps up the East Coast (seems goalposts might be moving). I hadn't noticed the grimace since August but did wonder about CO poisoning possibly starting to happen. I suppose not much is running at night when he's below deck. Seems some worried folks are paying attention to the musings on SA, and trying to argue against there being truth in any such pontifications. I say, follow the money, and physics is a bitch.
