I was. I missed those proclamations; got sick of listening to him, and if anything just skim his vids to see the latest freely available "progress." If he is not acting as the captain, who then is? I recognize he has no papers; just figured he is in the position of being ultimately responsible for that thing, and need some familiar handle. Would bus driver work? He does seem to get assistance whenever it moves. Last guy, Erik, seems to have gone off into the sunset and gone dark.

Its estimated numbers and features pertaining to stability and ability to recover from knockdown don't look promising. 8 second roll period, about 1.1' GM metacenter height, pilot house with fragile glazing and door, poor deck drainage, unsecured cargo, and unsealed deck openings to name a few. Add to that many likely system vulnerabilities when wet or working hard.

I empathize with you regarding growing sick of listening to his idiotic nonsense gibberish regarding anything to do with the BSO. I somehow suspect his adamant objection to assuming the title of captain is two fold. He does not have his papers(those are for pussies) and perhaps his belief that not assuming the title of captain absolves him of all responsibility going forward.

Bus driver would certainly be a more apt title for this reckless individual, particularly so if the bus remains empty of innocents.

I am certain there were indeed more people who would have very much enjoyed taking a slow drift down the Mississippi and those who went did so based on the limited number of berths and some relevant boating experience.

Erik is an experienced boater. Following along at a distance via YT, it is not unreasonable to imagine he became intrigued by this BSO. His real time on board however, may have been more revealing of this BSO real limits, deficiencies and maybe even some unsafe aspects of which he has wisely chosen to put some distance between himself and Dugg.

It has been awhile since I drove a truck, but I believe above 119 gallons you must have a haz mat license and placards on your vehicle.

You are right though, I can't imagine they love him there carting his diesel around and more importantly dumping his shit into the bay. I doubt pirates cove has a pump out boat (from active captain it doesn't seem like that kind of marina), Seeker obviously can't get to their dock for a pump out, and I bet they aren't thrilled with Doug dumping his waste down their toilets a few gallons at a time. I don't know when the season gets busy down there, but I feel like them letting him stay there sets a bad precedent. Maybe I should shake off the cold weather, head down there and live on some derelict boat for next to nothing?

It's possible 1 or 2 drums in his truck is for dry goods and/or water. His stated diesel capacity is not clear. In his weight est. video he stated 3.2tons diesel, which at 7lb/gal would be 914 gal. However he also mentioned 4 tanks of approx. 300 gal each which would be 1200 gal. He added lead bars to some tanks for trim to cure a list, which would reduce available volume. Whatever it is, I have a hard time imagining him ferrying just one drum at a time to fillup when he seems unwilling to buy it at a dock. The duggfuckery method of bunkering currently involves a pickup truck and winch. Should work well at distant shores. Probably been buying off road diesel.

You have a guy who has built a BSO, thinks he knows better than anyone raised by mothers who were women and is now facing the sad reality that his BSO is worth its scrap value and little more. Now he confidently states that if he met anyone face to face who dared state something he disagrees with, they would most likely find themselves laying on the ground bleeding from the face.
