He made some comment about getting the tender up higher out of the water. Now it looks like some contraption to haul crap out of the tender. All I know is more weight back at the stern seems like a good idea.
Most spreader bars I've seen stay with the lifting rig. His bone-breakers are attached to the dinghy where they will trip, cut (sharp edges), and trap legs as someone tries to jump out in the surf. Ah, hell, what am I saying, it's used to go to a protected dock in a protected anchorage, it will never see a beach.

Why would you leave spreader bars ON the dinghy? Why not leave them on the davit. Or am I missing something?
Without short slings below the spreader bars, you are never going to be able to attached or disconnect from the bars while afloat.
I have my doubts that the pelican hooks connecting to the spreader bars are rated for the loads they are going to see.

Coming up on the one year anniversary of the SV Sinker’s launching. And he has put some miles under the keel (keels?). Success or fail?
He erected an osprey nest platform in Arnica Bay without government permits - a tractor seat on a light pole. Took 15 years, but a success. Waiting for the osprey....

My favorite answer to this question on reddit was when someone said that they would call it a success if Doug, his son, and his grandson went for an offshore sail together and felt safe and enjoyed it.

I've been wondering how long that tender could withstand being suspended without a spreader, especially with the extreme obtuse angle of the sling.

To all of you idiots using the word "grifter" over and over:

Care to provide a definition of the word "grifter"? And then show how Doug meets that definition?

I know exactly zero of you will be able to do this, but I thought I would ask anyway.

Google spit out this definition for grifter; "a person who engages in petty or small-scale swindling." Obviously Seeker is large-scale swindling so I guess we'll need a new word.

Well, you've provided a definition for "grifter."

Now, the hard part--how does Doug meet that definition?
