Seeker has transitioned to her ultimate fate sooner than anticipated, she is what she was always meant to be: A floating dwelling that cannot move.
I recall as a young child in the mid '60s, building a go-kart and hoping to enter and win the local go-kart race. A month or so before the mid-august races, I came across a discarded television set. I ripped out all the wiring, tubes and anything else that looked fancy.I then attempted to assemble these bits of wires, tubes and other things( I knew not what they were called..) inside the "hood" of my go-kart. When questioned, I told people that these were "space age" devices, designed to make my go-kart go faster than any other ever built. In retrospect, the encouraging adults were just humoring me when they told me I was really smart and would certainly win all the races. In my child's mind, I wanted to be the fastest so much, I actually believed the story I was telling to anyone asking.

A few dry runs were done on a local hill and I was crushed to see my go-kart not going any faster then it went before the modifications.

My hardly developed brain somehow "knew" it was never going to actually work but I nevertheless entered the real race. I lost terribly but used the excuse of not having had enough time to fully integrate all my "space age" gizmos and would return next year to show them I was right all along!
Of course, next year did eventually come, but by then I had grown up a bit more and had already moved on to more interesting things.....tree houses!

Dugg sort of reminds me of a cheap facsimile of myself as a very young child, except he is a full grown adult with access to "space age" stuff I never would have had knowledge of nor the means to acquire. His sail rig sort-of-looks-like the drawings and pictures he has seen, but does not perform. His mechanical systems sort-of-resemble things that work in other settings but continue to either not perform or seriously under-perform.

In the end, I was very fortunate to be so young and growing up dramatically improved my life in ways too numerous to count. Unfortunately, Dugg has already done all the growing up he will ever do. He is stuck in an ever deepening rut of his own making and only deception, delusion and outright grifting appear as viable ends to themselves. He has worked too hard not to fail!

I guess one has to give the guy credit for maximizing pipe wall friction losses.
Fair, but the water in the pipe adds a lot to rotational inertia. If the goal is to increase roll period without reducing stability, this may be a worthwhile trade-off.

Who would like to bet the Doug gets the cheapest continuously running Chinese pump to pump water to to the shaft? Or he powers it hydraulically off the power steering pump/Hundestat/transfer case circuit...
He still has an unused output on the transfer case. He could go seriously old school and run a belt off of it to a overhead driveline running the length of the bo…er, vessel with output pulleys and belts going to pumps, lathes, shop equipment, etc wherever needed. Legend.

Both outputs are unused.

"Well you see this transfer case output runs clockwise but we need a counterclockwise input to the pump. So we're going to run a jackshaft and chain drive to a gear that we can put the pump on the other side. I love these sort of challenges. They're fun!"

With the belts-n-pulleys you just twist the belt and the rotation is reversed.

Oops never mind, too simple for Duh.

Don't be ridiculous! With enough universal joints he could make a universal "U" to reverse the rotation.

Just watched a short video on the reddit site of Dugg showing off his auto-pilot. The speed of the wheel revolutions and the ungodly racket is something to behold! Of course, he lets out a hearty fake laugh declaring,"It's workin'!"
It truly escapes me why he thinks; a) he needs an auto pilot and b) this will ever be useful to him. I say this as this BSO has yet to convincingly demonstrate any ability whatsoever to truly sail on all points in a fresh breeze. Something a normal vessel this size would excel at. Similarly under power, the speed he can honestly maintain will be so low that normal open ocean waves will forever be shoving that BSO off whatever heading gets programed into the auto pilot. After having watched a number of his motoring down the Mississippi videos, it was clear his helm just barely has any authority and the response times are s...l...o...w.

If and when he ever actually goes out into the open waters of the gulf, his auto-pilot is bound to give out, break or simply not produce the results Dugg thinks this device will afford him. Thus, another excuse to keep playing Mr. Fix-It for things too late to rectify and for which are well beyond Duggs big brain to fully comprehend.

This BSO has permanent structural and design flaws which no amount of Duggyvering will ever remedy.

What an utter waste Sinking/Vessel Stinker has become.

Auto-pilot, a bunch of lines to one winch in the Skipper's command center, and remote switches and relays indicate continuing delusions of single handing his creation which is unable to properly sail or motor. So, seething with anger is the stance. Not a happy camper.
