Very nice! Any intention of racing her in the Baltic (I assume)?

Here's a BB 10 on fire:

Not planing, just surfing. Still, shows what capable boats these are.

A bit smaller and more rare, but comparable in my view to the BB 10 is the Solus Alta:

I've sail quite a bit on a BB10m, sometimes against Solus Alta's in beer can races and trust me, it's a dog compared to the BB10.

There's a Solus Alta that has done the OSTAR though, which I would rather do it in than the BB10, which doesn't have a self bailing cockpit.

Thanks for the insight! I only once saw a test of the Drabant 27 vs the Solus, which I thought was an odd comparison...

I saw a GPH of 651 for one boat, not many under ORC, none under IRC as far as I know.  That would put it into X-99 territory. Do you think that would be a fair rating?

are these types of boats capable of planing? or only displacement speeds are to be expexted?
Really narrow boats don't really have a displacement speed as they can accelerate beyond their hull speed relatively easily compared to a wider design. Thus you don't really get 2 distinct sailing modes, I is more linear, a bit like a multihull.

Sailing on FRANCIS LEE confirms that this is true.

Someone mentioned Anconas in another thread. Also rather narrow Swedish design so I guess that is their thing. I raced on a 35 a couple of years back and it was surprisingly quick, given it sported lots of wood below, teak decks, etc. More than a bit cramped in the cockpit though. Think gentleman’s Aphrodite 101 on steroids.

I bet a Swede 55 is a blast.

Yes, the Swede 55 is a fun vessel to sail and easy when short handed.
