From what we've heard here, the Ineos B2 Britannia is in a museum and B1 was scrapped. While it would make sense for OE to get Te Rehtai given they bought an ETNZ design package (supposedly last July, before their original sponsor pulled out in September, and who knows if they have any design package updates), the quote we saw from OE was about how 'there are plenty of AC75s available' which could mean they are in negotiations. The decomissioning of Patriot may point that way. Or Maybe Alinghi will also move on from theirs soon. Iirc both Prada boats are at that base in Cagliari, there was a video a few months ago where they flew a drone through the base areas but then I think I also remember their AC36 B2 having gone to a museum in Genoa or Milan? 'Plenty of boats' is an exaggeration.

You mean the theory that Patriot would have won, if only.. ?
Do people believe that? They didn't win one race.
Teams are forced to give weight to some decisions versus others, based in part on guesses about conditions expected. It's much easier for a Defender to make those guesses right, we have seen it before. In the past two Cups, the conditions were lighter in the Finals than in the month of the CSS and the difference could be even more pronounced in Barcelona.

This is part of why there was a big shitfight, ETNZ against Prada, about upper and lower WS limits in AC36. Even though Defender ETNZ should have stayed the hell out of the Challengers' CSS regs ;)

By the time

Alinghi will surely do full scale testing for as long as possible with a view towards their new build, in a similar manner to patriot, but with the advantage of the Barcelona location.
Or will they modify a 40 to that end? And two boat test a la etnz
France are due to receive a 75 after the Barcelona only sailing period - so maybe te aihe or a lrpp 75 - it won't matter to alinghi or the Italians with builds under way and info accrued through months of testing already incorporated.
Which leaves orient express getting up to speed on one and building another at the same time for a 2024 spring launch.
We can only hope the design package - based on te rehutai ? + recon info + location info will be enough to put them on a competitive footing with the other more well established teams.
Even alinghi (a new team) for this cycle will have a distinctive advantage of 12 mths + on orient express in sailing terms.
Still, Orient expresses final design + sailing crew may yet be enough to make a respectable stand.
I hope so.

The only team with incentive to rent or give them a boat is ETNZ, for commercial-intere$t purposes, but yes, will be interesting to see and follow.

Decommissioning to ship to France?
France would be smart to try get Patriot, with the cyclor and other upgraded systems already installed.

"The day concluded with a patriotic display of red, white, and blue distress smoke signals being deployed off the stern while Patriot sailed all the way in the pass (for the first time)."

Correction, blue, white, red.

Great boat, will be sad to not see it sail again.

Sad to see Patriot's sailing days end too.

Seagulls to fly them off, in true Anarchy-style.
