From the video:

Lucas said that they expect the second AC40 to meet them in Barcelona. When pressed, he said that of all the changes they will be making on the LEQ12, the foils should make the most impact.

Oof, you’d get whiplash from that!
Seems like the bow mods are doing their job though. The Brits lost their rudder and probably did something similar. I think it's only Alinghi that hasn't had a good stuffing. Odds are they will. No major damage reported since ETNZ broke their bow. The AC40 is a tough little nugget.

are these from their instagram?
yeah, was trying to figure out what is going on, my guess is that is extruded polystyrene (house insulation) and they are trying to reduce volume of voids to keep water out? Otherwise it may be a very rough way of making a template..?

Eliminating voids. I wonder if this is standard practice for the AC40 that all teams are doing, or whether it's a bonus mod Magic do? I guess the former if it's public.

I was interested in timing though. Whether this was the foil arm they received as a pair with AC40-5... or whether they ordered (and received before Luna Rossa) a third foil arm for use with their test foil.

It was a quick turnaround from them sailing on the 14th with complete OD set-up to sticking on the LEQ foil on the 18th. But maybe that's a plausible without having an extra arm.

A bit surprising that they had to hack at those blocks to get a fit. I am surprised injecting a closed cell foam with some barrier coating on the internal surfaces wasn't used to get a net shape.

Would it really be faster to fit a new foil onto a separate foil arm and then integrate the combined assembly versus just putting the foil onto an installed arm? I imagine the electrical, hydraulic connections would be roughly the same in number, just connected in a different location. Does anyone have any knowledge of what is being used for actuation?
