#americascup is my childhood dream. After being with several French teams very closely, I decided in 2001 to launch my own challenge in the 32nd edition in Valencia. Part of a white leaf this epic will have deeply marked me and proved that France is one of the few countries that has everything to win it.

Sometimes you have to know how to wait for the right time to go again.

It's been a year now that we've put together an incredible group to introduce ourselves on the starting line with the best French team ever, bringing together talent at the top of their art and exceptional technological means snails.

The 2022-2024 international competition schedule will be intense and fantastic with 4 additional trophies to be won: America's Cup, Womens America's Cup , Youth America's Cup and the SailGP circuit.

K-Challenge aims to register in the duration and leave a legacy by preparing for the future and training the talents of tomorrow. Therefore, many technological developments are also in the maps that will allow for major innovations that will contribute to the #transitionecologicaltransition of transport.

Impossible is not French!

when foiling catamarans became the thing, everyone thought the french had all the experience.

Groupama in AC35 came last in the ACWS series and the LV cup.

they got a long way to make up starting from scratch here, the performances in SailGP not much to get excited about either

I will be surprised if they go as far as having an AC75 built, but who knows? Maybe they could upgrade a B1 as a first go. I think Stephan Kandler is from a family that owns or owned some big French weapons manufacturer, it's possible the money part is fairly easy.

So, the money might be there and there's certainly no shortage of French sailing talent.

To borrow the vernacular from Australia (a bit ironic in this context, I know) "Where the bloody hell are ya, France?"
If they do manage to get their Challenge accepted there could be a possibility to buy the INEOS B1, no?

What do you think?

I think they'd be better off without her. That thing was a real pooch.
One great thing about buying a B1, whether you upgrade it or not, could be to develop your instrumentation and modelling accuracy. It hardly matters which boat unless you intend to upgrade it to race it in AC37 and expect to be competitive. Not sure why Alinghi went with ETNZ's B1 (way different from their B2) instead of maybe LR's B1 but one of the reasons could be any design and matching sim software that was included; those B1 deals could vary in their details and better-funded teams may prefer to keep details in-house.

Is difficult as all the money/support goes to offshore sailing in established races many of which originate in France. Also preparations for Paris Olympics. M. Kandler is wealthy no doubt but not to extent of Mssrs. Ellison, Ratcliffe or Bertarelli.

This popular French sailing site is paying very little attention to AC-anything.

Voiles et Voiliers, le magazine et le site des passionnés de la voile et de la mer (ouest-france.fr)

I could see Kandler getting into some or most of SailGP and the AC40's but a new-build AC75?

One good thing, for existing teams anyway, is how despite the country venue changing this turnaround is pretty short - only about 3 and half years. Can't remember a quicker one. Bertarelli likely has a basically unlimited budget; the timeframe may not affect his decision to enter as much.

Ah...yes. The $quillionaire dollars. Our country lacks that resource also, which is why we have to go offshore to raise the necessary funding. But, in this game, you do what you have to do, right?

No, Dalton only did what put more money in his pocket. He could have designed a boat/event that kept costs to a minimum and been able to afford it at home. Instead he bought a set of fake tits, huge eyelashes, some spike heels, and a pleather wet look mini dress, slammed his hooker into it all and shoved her out on the street corner.

Dalton is a pimp.

Don’t forget that LR’s first boat may have been fast, but was rather fragile. They broke that thing a few times. If I was buying a practice boat that could also do some R&D, I’d want one that can take a beating.
