They won races with a slower boat last time. Their high mode was quite deadly until Burling and Co figured out how to avoid it. They were easily the best challenger. They will improve on their last effort, making them formidable. I wouldn't be writing the Italians off. They have to be the favoured team to challenge at this early stage.
I expect a strong and improved effort from AM who were fast in a breeze, but had weaknesses in light air. They will remedy those issues.
You never quite know what we're going to get with the Brits, but I wouldn't be writing them off either. Even they had a little purple patch last time where they looked quite likely.
I think Alinghi are up against it starting so far back. Ditto the French.
I disagree with you on this regarding the Italians.
Basically every single Team has to start from scratch given that we have the Cyclors or Cyclists back on board which requires different systems.
Yes, the Kiwis had Bikes in 2017 but that was 6 years ago.

One hears the start sequence is going to be shorter as a further assist to PB so he doesn't get dorked so easily.

Holy fuck is that the most wildly stupid comment I’ve read in ages! I honestly think I’m just a little more dumb for having read that.

Multiplast to build OET's AC75. The French are excited to be getting a Kiwi design package.

They do not have a snowball chance in hell to be competitive in this Cup. They are already locking in their design and built the boat before they have even sail an AC75. That is a lot of blind trust in the NZ plans that you know are not giving away any secrets.

If the V2 boat is even almost as good as, Te Rehutai, it'll be competitive enough to race the other Challengers in AC37, Challenger Series. Might even be quicker than the Poms!

No one expects the French to be a serious threat in AC37 including the French. They're here to get on the AC train and return with a better chance in AC38.

Everyone is not far off locking their hull designs in. That doesn't mean foil design is locked down yet though.

It'll be curious to see how similar the French and Kiwi boats will be. I'm picking they'll be quite close with only subtle differences. Foils are another story. I'm picking the Kiwis will offer an all around performing foil. French might come up with their own though. Main sail control is another big development area, and I think the Kiwis will keep some of their best ideas to themselves.
I wonder whether ETNZ will supply a simulator to the French? If that is part of the package? If so, you'd think it wouldn't be quite as capable as their own. Might lack the latest AI tech....

Presumably NZ can only offer anything (boat, foils, main) that has never been in the water. Otherwise it could breach the rules on surrogates. So it will only be version 2.1 of the foils, not 2.2 that NZ will eventually race with

It appears they also solved the problem of what to do with old AC boats. They can charge extra for crew spots, customers who want to ride on and trim classic AC boats. Smart!

They're launching le 40 in vannes - end of April,
Design brought from.Etnz is based on Te ruhatai,
Simulator allows for design mods/upgrades prior to build,
They're confident 👍
