These boats are unforgiving. So many variables, so many things to go wrong. It all may just come down to a lady luck. The most stunning pic so far is this one. I am very happy it ended the way it did. All 9 lives used up in this one moment.

Don't know why that OTUSA pic is there - but his biggest danger was being sconed by the x-beam!

Who is going to back home first ?

GTF did not sail with their best foils yesterday, allowing them to be faster downwind but slower upwind and not stable during transitions. They also have 10 more days to improve.

BAR lacks speed, is improving too, not as fast, but mainly gets 2 points advantage. So will GTF be able to win 3 times to bring Ben back home ? It won't be easy, but if they do, not only they please some, they also gives themselves extra time improve before the LV.

GTF is like the Shosholoza of AC32 in Valencia, how can you not root for these guys?

It's a problem possibly for race-starved ETNZ too, but the forecast is an even bigger problem for the steep-curve but hard working and rapidly improving GTF.

The wind even north and outside the Sound today was weak, they are in a tough spot even if they are willing to keep putting the long hard hours in.

I think GTF are going home first, of all the things we can predict in this cup I believe that is the prediction we can make with the most certainty.

But yeah, everyone loves an underdog especially if they are slogging their guts out and are cheerful about it.

ETNZ might chuck their first race against LRBAR, just to get even for his love tap (Kiwis gonna want to keep their distance next time out for sure). So that could close the odds for GTF, no?  ;)

Don't you mean chuck their first race against GTF?

LRBAR goes in with 2 points, GTF has to win three more races than them. Assuming it goes to the believed form, ETNZ, STJ and ART will win all their races against TF and LRBAR, then TF has to beat LRBAR twice, and hope that TF picks another point up elsewhere.

I think...

Yes I do. My bad. Thanks, Trig.
