As the posters who said that the hydrogen boat would only get used to take VIP's out for a spin go quiet.

Congrats TNZ on a "practical" display of two side-show items all teams have been forced to spend millions on instead of the actual AC.
AC40 might be at least somewhat entertaining to watch. I could care less what the HSV is used for. Really don't like that the HSV and its questionable total environmental impact has been forced on everyone because its touted as green. As said before - that same amount of money could have been utilized for proven tech with immediate, tangible, long-term environmental savings.

You did notice that they put all of the sails and gear for the AC40 on another tender, right? One that has the room to carry stuff the normal tender boats carry.

Toyota, the world’s biggest car maker, has launched six new electric models in a sign of shifting focus from its previous bet on hydrogen as the green fuel of the future.

Similar recent piece, pay-walled.

I think green hydrogen will definitely be apart of future energy and transport. It’s not as simple as a car manufacturer making hydrogen cars for it to happen it is a complex problem. Atm there is hardly any infrastructure to fuel these cars and green hydrogen production is still very low. It is still probably 10years away but at least Toyota has showed they have the developed the technology and it works. When the time comes I wouldn’t be surprised they get back into it , it’s just not the right time or market to mass-produce hydrogen cars. Electric cars are a good stepping stone and will also be a important part of n the future. A lot easyier to set up infrastructure so it is leading the race so far.
