There is a big difference between how FL and NYC handle this. In NYC the medical info stays with the kid's doctor and is protected. Only a simple form to declare the kid fit is sent to the school. In Florida, the school gets all the medical info without any HIPAA protections.

As for Ventucky's apps, those are entirely voluntary. Very different from mandating that information being shared.

Fail. The forms states "The only pages that gets returned to the Athletic Director is titled 'Recommendations for Participation in Phys. Ed and Sport.' " Parents have to submit an annual physical form to schools every year but it stays with the school nurse.

At the school I manage, I made the admin pony up 10 grand to a secure electronic medical records system because I told them my RN lisc was at risk if I knowingly stored student info on their shit ass unsecure system.
