It's a guessing competition - that means it's meant to be a ) fun and b ) slightly wacky. Like a jelly-bean guessing competition, only with dollars instead. Lighten up!All of this guessing is really amazing as it shows the lack of knowledge here on SA. I am also guessing that many of you have not priced new boats lately. Do any of you realise that a SC37 is advertised at $399k USD!! Now we have people, or kids, guessing that a 44 foot boat will only cost 100K. Come on guys, a used Benaslow 40.7 goes for almost $200K. Time to get real folks.
You are on the money.well, they have said from the start they want it under $200k. they have also made some major changes to the inital design, as Bob said to reduce cost. so i think they are trying to keep it at $200k or lower. And well they should as they will sell a boat load of boats at that price. I doubt they will be able to keep the hull entirely carbon though. wishfull thinking.
nevertheless, I am going to go with a $199,500 introductory price, rising to $219,000 after the first XX hulls (likely 25).
If they can deliver a good boat, with good speed, at this price, it will be a definate winner. good luck. i would be a buyer.
exactly250,000 - 300,000 U.S.D. I'm sure the price won't close anyone's wallets but the 9' fixed keel will.
So how much do you figure totaled up with sails, electronics, comissioning and bottom job; sitting the water and ready to race? You are on the money.well, they have said from the start they want it under $200k. they have also made some major changes to the inital design, as Bob said to reduce cost. so i think they are trying to keep it at $200k or lower. When we say "Fast, Fun and Affordable" we mean it. Our goal has always been just that. Nothing else. We want to see the Sailing World survive and expand. Not just for the very few.
Everyone involved in our projects are of the same mind. From designers, sparmakers, sailmakers, dreamers, etc.

Does that add another 110K?
Something tells me this will not be a Cat 0 boat....So how much do you figure totaled up with sails, electronics, comissioning and bottom job; sitting the water and ready to race?

add to that everything needed to be ORC Cat 1 (or Cat 0) compliant.
How come no line drawing at your web site? The only place the interior layout is at SA's page. You are on the money.well, they have said from the start they want it under $200k. they have also made some major changes to the inital design, as Bob said to reduce cost. so i think they are trying to keep it at $200k or lower. game changer? / new paradigm?
just off the top of my head it seems for any given amount of money you can always get a multi hull that will get from A to B faster.
- forget about all the other debates, pointing, motion, sinking v capzise etc etc
now here I am not sure that is true - lets just say Tokyo to Hawaii or Sydney to Hobart a point to point ocean race - no turning back, no waiting for the perfect window.
is there a new $200,000 multi that can beat the lucky 13.8???
Inquiring minds want to know -
a guy with $200,000 that wants a fast ocean boatgame changer? / new paradigm?
