You were doing so well until your last sentence - the water problems are due to climate change and no restrictions on development and water use. Shit, what freedom could I have given up when I ruptured my achilles to have it only cost $20? That one maxed my deductible, had a bunch of non-covered out of pocket, and insurance stopped covering physical therapy sessions before it was advised. I would have been better off with a full rupture instead of the partial.

Posters like Saorsa are why we can't join the rest of the industrialized world by claiming that poor people get good health care. Going to the emergency room, having your life savings wiped out, no access to preventative care ain't good.

ANYONE can get better health care by going to Grenada for a vacation, and having a medical issue come up.

Yes that is something that needs to be addressed. Government controlled HC is an extreme that should be the last resort, because it would be an immediate loss of excellence which is what is available now.

Quality of actual care provided, and the accessibility / affordability of that care are two completely different, and largely unrelated issues.

We have no deductible on most health care. Our private medical insurance (drugs, dentistry, optometry) just doesn't pay out until we hit their deductibles, so prescriptions are out of pocket until we hit $200(?), then they pay their portion of any future medication.
