I like the AC75.....however if someone won the cup, they could easily rewrite the rules. What the fuck?
I'm sorry but how is making acceptance of entry based on AC75 any better than what Orifice and co did in Bermuda?
This is disgraceful. Any other Kiwis willng to voice this opinion?
Yeah, that could be a curly one!If a team apart from the Poms enter and then win I am sure they could change to another class if they so desired. And the NY courts would agree.
More importantly it is hypocritical of Etnz to do this after having a weapons grade whinge fest over Orifice trying to do it.I like the AC75.....however if someone won the cup, they could easily rewrite the rules.
At least it’s not beach cats. What the fuck?

I think this rule must be in place for a DOG match which is then followed by a normal America’s Cup.More importantly it is hypocritical of Etnz to do this after having a weapons grade whinge fest over Orifice trying to do it.
Disgraceful.
No it isn’t. TNZ hated the boat. Why would they sign up for that. It was a beach cat. Fact is ALL the Teams fuckin loved the AC 75.More importantly it is hypocritical of Etnz to do this after having a weapons grade whinge fest over Orifice trying to do it.
Disgraceful.
The agreement is written into the protocol. The protocol is only valid until the challenge is decided. ETNZ knows it,which is why its written into the protocol. If they lose, a new protocol is written and the previous one is non existent.More importantly it is hypocritical of Etnz to do this after having a weapons grade whinge fest over Orifice trying to do it.
Disgraceful.
Which means the current built boats just gained in resale value.Yes only one new boat. Existing teams can still bench mark against their old boats - so a big advantage for them.
Well, that's the current teams. What about prospective teams? It was a beach cat. Fact is ALL the Teams fuckin loved the AC 75
Well, that's the only way this is ethical.I think this rule must be in place for a DOG match which is then followed by a normal America’s Cup.
Except for Rita 1....I hear they're trying to give her away.......Maybe EB could pick her up......Which means the current built boats just gained in resale value.
Yep....it's the EB clause......makes it hard for anyone that wants to buy a team
10 mill for a proven boat would be cheap. Time is the big thing so this will be a significant incentive for more quality challengers.Design packages as well. 5 mill for Te Aihe.....10 mill for TR.....
ETNZ can't impose anything on AC38. They know it, we know it, you can be damn sure the CoR knows it, potential (prospective) teams know it so AC38 doesn't come into the picture.Well, that's the current teams. What about prospective teams?
And if all the teams love them so much, no need to make entry conditional upon them right?
I'm sorry but this is ETNZ trying to impose their vision on AC38 regardless of whether they win it lose and is no better than Orifice.
If ETNZ want to keep dictating terms, they make sure they keep winning. Not pull this scam.
Think about what you just said hereAM was perhaps the fastest boat of the fleet but we will never know, they had vibrations in the rudder that prevented them to show the potential of the boat.
Defiant is also a bit of a problem child, all the crew down the back wasn't a great ideaExcept for Rita 1....I hear they're trying to give that her away.......Maybe EB could pick her up......
