Nah, bow down trim is fast! Increases waterline length and gets the draggy stern out of the water. Definitly performance trim...Looks like he got his waterline slightly wrong.
Probably saved a lot of time & money!It's all over. Tried to lift out whilst full of water and lifted from framework/rigging rather than slings (not sure how that follows), and something failed - likely the hull/frame from which it was being lifted. Hit the ground hard and irrecoverable damage.
Done first in 1978 after many tries. In theory, it's all downhill but winds are fickle. But very, very cold when the heat runs out and hard to breath when the oxegen depletes.Not sailing, and I don't know anything about ballooning-but this looks at least equally foolhardy, mainly due to the wicker basket.
