The end of women's sport.

Yes, this is a weird one. The shooter seemed to have it together: Good education, career, money, and it seems no affiliation with the school for more than a decade. Not the sort that would (rightly, perhaps) hold a grudge, yet alone a murderous one. Time will tell.
Although under current medical care for "emotional difficulties" - and that wasn't a red flag to remove gun buying rights... Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Go figure. Chat GPT is way WAY smarter than dog. And more compassionate. How does it feel to know that a bunch of transistors has a better grasp of humanity than you do?

Go ahead. Call them abnormal again.

The concept of gender is more complex than just biology. While a person's biological sex may be male or female, their gender identity may not necessarily align with their assigned sex at birth.

Gender identity refers to a person's internal sense of themselves as male, female, both, or neither. Gender is a social construct that encompasses a range of behaviors, roles, and expectations that are associated with being male or female.

Therefore, it is possible for a person who was assigned male at birth to identify as a woman and to undergo hormone therapy and/or gender confirmation surgery to transition to a female gender.

It is important to respect a person's gender identity and to use their preferred pronouns and names. Transgender individuals face significant discrimination and marginalization in many societies, and it is crucial to promote acceptance and inclusivity.

Non-sequitur but ChatAI is essentially an averaging machine more akin to verbal tarot card reading - its not capable of offering any particular unique insight. The developers have said a few times now that one of their fears is that people start to ascribe emotion or intellect to them.

They work really well for things like customer service, law, and other communication heavy industries because people typically want average responses - most people's problems or questions are average and require an average response.

Our New Chatbot Overlords

...
The January 12 issue of Nature reported that scientific reviewers were fooled about one-third of the time by fake biomedical article abstracts that ChatGPT generated. Somewhat ironically, the prestigious International Conference on Machine Learning banned authors from using A.I. tools like ChatGPT to write scientific papers.
...

That's more than a little ironic.

I remember being forced to learn to calculate square roots by hand. I'm not sure I'm really all that much better off for the experience.

That is ironic but not surprising to me. In science and academia, number is more important than quality and there's an awful lot of redundant research. Abstracts are often pretty bland and boiler plate, and sometimes written by non-native speakers. Unless something was just totally silly, I'd get fooled as much as anyone.

Correct- ask it "how do I rig a 470" and it can sift thru 500 pages of rigging guide and come up with the consensus answer on how most people rig their 470... it might even be able to give you the specifics on different builders' halyard systems, if these were described in relatively consistent detail.

And some common sense from England.

“Women swimmers will not have to compete against transgender competitors in licensed events under new rules from Swim England.
The sport’s governing body has introduced an ‘open’ category for those born male as well as trans or non-binary competitors, while a ‘female’ category will be restricted to those with a birth sex of female”. …

And woman's sport still hasn't ended.

I know, I know. If you'd actually been truthful about the title, you could have called it "sport has some adjustments to make to deal with transgenderism". But that doesn't support your scream at clouds narrative about transgenderism and all the evil that surrounds it (in your eyes and your political party's eyes).

Keep it up dog. You look more stupid every day, and you'll perpetually be on the wrong side of history. You're arguing Jim Crow when the majority of society has moved well beyond it.

And I really do pity you. I can't imagine what it must be like to constantly live in fear of all the 'abnormalities' around you.

It's taking some time, but we are slowly coming to a sane resolution (and one I have advocated all along). How an athlete identifies is irrelevant, they should participate in the group corresponding to their sex.

"everybody now has to either affirm the absurd and crazy – that a man who is essentially a female impersonator can fairly compete against women – or they have to suffer abuse and persecution as bigots just for speaking the truth.”
