Yes, I am proud of the fact that I called this on election night 4 years ago that the GOP needed to be burnt down because they were stupid enough to have not only elected trump, but threw their full weight of support behind him. Any party that is stupid enough to have hitched their wagon to this POS grifter needs to burn. We can never move forward, IMHO, until the GOP as we know it today ceases to exist. Until it's completely and utterly gone, there will not be any chance of replacing it with something better. So yes, I'm very proud of that prescience I had from almost exactly 4 years (minus 49 days) ago.

I absolutely did not. I stayed home. Well, actually I didn't bother requesting an absentee ballot while living overseas because I was disgusted with both candidates. And I've been 100% consistent with my disgust with the GOP's behavior and my call for BTBD since that night.

Fucked enough to revive the democRATS in just two years, with the silly notion that there are people other than billionaires who deserve representation. Somewhere back when I posted that I noted that the death The Pride of the GOP dealt to the democRATS was swift, but the one he would bring to the GOP would be far slower and much more painful. We get to watch that play out.
The only election I've missed was the 2016 and that was after I retired. I voted for Obama in 12 and McCain before that. Getting an absentee ballot as a civilian living overseas is a major PITA. Given the quality of both candidates in 16, I couldn't be bothered. Even if I had the ballot, I would have penciled in Mickey Mouse just on general principle. I hated the thought of either of them running the country, so said "fuck it". I happened to be home in the US during the 2018 midterms, so voted in person for the first time in about 2 decades. It was novel.
I've voted in every election since I became eligible. I was raised to believe that voting is not only a right, it's a responsibility.
