I had lunch last week with an Australian friend who is right wing, historically we don't give a fuck how our friends vote.  The subject of Tump did come up and I said something like "well, he's not gone yet, shit can still happen."

He looked at me as if I was crazy and asked "You don't seriously believe that they will try to stop the process now do you?"

All I said before we both backed off was "I don't think you understand how crazy these people are ...."

Fuck yes. I know so may of them. I am contracting home renovations right now and the last 2 homes I have gone to still have Trump flags flying. Just today I was estimating some deck renovation for a lady and her neighbors are “libtards”. Then her son came out to say the capital was stormed. 
 

I will do the work if she accepts the quote, but she will get no discount and the materials will be what she wants- not what I would spec. She already told me how smart she is and how much money wage has thanks to Trump. She claims second generation in America rights to be Republican. Crazy shit, Dude. Crazy shit.

FWIW. -  one of the garden designers I work with, quietly bids it so everybody makes 20% more, when the client's a Trumper.

Covering the risk that they will try and stiff you, as their hero has done as a regular business practice.

I have the luxury of not having to do business with any Republicans. I've been researching corporate ownership to try an minimize the amount of my money that supports the Republican Party and it's agenda.

I assume your contract calls for a % to be paid at the time of contract signing, another % when the work starts, more at the halfway mark, the rest minus a small holdback at the completion of the project.  Holdback released when items on the punch  list have been resolved.  Profit built in at the front end of the project, not at the back end.

Yes. However, I have been screwed so many times in the past 3 years by Democrat that I now have to progress the way you state. I can only lose the last payment after the checklist is complete. By then it isn’t worth the money to go after them. I’m down $18,000 this year alone. Not letting this one Trump me!

PS. I don’t price gouge, but she doesn’t deserve the general respect I give to customers I know and generally trust since she solicited me for work and bashed Democrats the entire time I was trying to estimate the work she wanted done.

Actually, I think W is most likely a very nice guy. A lot of negatives in that package but I think he genuinely means well. I have a service friend who accompanied him on a couple of his visits to wounded veterans, and he said that President Bush's sympathy was genuine but it seemed to never occur to him that he and his decisions had anything to do with it.

Molly Ivins knew him in high school and said, he's not mean he's just very spoiled. Born rich, always won, always assumed he SHOULD always win.

Lack of leadership qualities I admire. Democrats have not done outstandingly in that regard either, but they tend to not crash the bus so often.
