The Ocean Race 2023 / GAME / One More Time - Around The World

I´m desperately trying the outer route with poor to none chances to regain leadership positions, no other clear choices for me now.

Anyway my latest poor performance has a reason, an infamous german arrived home (Alzheimer), so probably this is my last leg with you all. My mind is far away from the game and real world sailing, I need to focus all my attention on my wife. Sad, but that´s what life brings me now.
So sorry to hear that Breitling thoughts and prayers to you and your family

I wrote that last note without seeing your note first, Breitling. Apologies for the poorly-timed quip. Rooting for you and your wife, mate.

Does anyone remember when VR gouged players by making you buy Mars bars to increase crew energy levels?

Why they make the game harder to play is beyond me, after all it is only a game, the days of winning a new car and being flown to stop overs is long gone.

Yes, I remember. They definitely could have made some cash from me if they opened up the candy shop.

I´m fine, is my wife who was given a one-way ticket. Many thanks for your thoughts.

I´ll finish this leg just for honour but I need my full time now for her. Maybe in the future we will meet here again. I have some offers to join to some spaniard teams, but is with you anarchists where I really feel the competiton. So I don´t know when I´ll be back, but I will.

Thank you all again.

Good morning,

Apologies for the lack of reporting yesterday, I suggest you demand a refund!

Everyone, except Hello Kitty is round Cape Horn and wrestling with the extremely varied conditions coming off the Argentinian mainland. Large variation in wind speed and direction are requiring multiple sail changes, and gybes, but occasional tacks. This has resulted in many of us, including me, seeing 0% energy levels. This is not fast.

Selective switching off of auto-sails seems to be the answer, although this has to be done manually, so doesn't get done when I'm sleeping (I will not interrupt a night's sleep for the sake of this game).

A large low is currently to the SE of the fleet, giving generally SWerly winds. A high is about to appear in front of the leaders, but seems to be moving reasonably quickly off to the east to be replaced by a series of small lows, with a micro high in the middle. These lows will merge and give nice southerlies to get the leaders to the finish in about 3 days from now. That is the forecast, let's see what actually happens!

I was impressed at the variety of options for dealing with the Falkland Islands, from Hoople, leaving them well off to starboard, while Breitling and SailMyCubicle left them to port. Special mention to prettyhate who went up the middle, which is a tricky eat to pull off without becoming impaled on one of the many islands and points in that stretch of water.

Good morning,

The leaders are gripped by the high pressure system which is bringing very light winds across the course. Currently Hello Kitty is the only boat doing more than 12kts, and he is a long way from rounding the Horn.

Viper has made an audacious move to the east, and is currently sitting in 4th overall. Whether this will pay off long term, or whether he will be sitting in light winds for longer remains to be seen.

The chasing pack seems to have gained ground on the leaders, and it looks like those to the west will get better winds sooner.

A series of lows are forecast to spin off Argentina and then amalgamate into one big low that should give everyone some welcome southerlies to get home in the next couple of days.

Luck. Is when preparation meets opportunity. Or maybe when the leaders find a hole to park it up in AGAIN. Oh Oh Breitling on the right could be in the wind at the finish East of a hole in the West at the end!

There seems to be a lot of bloat in the games app 2 GB+ of space taken. Just did a delete and got a fresh copy should help.. down to 627.4 MB now…. What’s up with that Mom?
