Shockwave is looking pretty good. Although my teammate Farley looks fantastic. I pushed too far West... Not sure yet if I'll be able to come out ahead of the big East pack.

Good morning,

I agree Shockwave is looking pretty good, but JeSa and Brietling are looking even better, and moving faster towards max winds.

Anyway, lanes have been chosen and now it is a drag race to get to the Tropic of Capricorn in 3 days where more choices will need to be made.

Good morning,

JeSa and Breitling are looking better and better and will be leading the bunch by a considerable distance. Viper et al are reaching in over the top of the western gang with more pressure and a wider angle, so are likely to be just behind the two leaders.

Shockwave and MikeMike have taken control of the westerners, and the main posse has swelled in numbers, making their behaviour even more unruly.

Hoople is still nominally in the lead, but is about 12°N of the leaders, and I fear for his long term prospects.

Nice reaching angles will come to a halt in just over two days when decisions will need to be made.

I think the western group will finally catch up with us, although they still have to gain some west longitude to avoid getting stuck in the high pressure area. Hopefully, we'll make it in time to ride the cold front to the south.

i'm tentatively planning to push pretty far south, even if it means ultimately overshooting Cape Town and coming back NNW to finish.

Good afternoon!

A late update in haste (there is beer whispering sweet nothings to me!).

Lanes are changing, Breitling and JeSa are no longer joined at the hip. The behaviour of the western gang is deteriorating!

Maybe an update tomorrow.

Nice sight to starboard. Viper joining , let´s see if we can cut the corner and catch the southern train on time.

cool pic, i wondered what those islands looked like but never took the time to research. yesterday i thought i would cross infront of you, but you had the better angle. there are a couple of my teammates from IT-Ech (Miceri, PimpI)a couple hours ahead and Diouck56 right next to me. there looks to be two options from my position, one a little further south than the other, and the south option at the moment looks to be better. Long way to go, and more mistakes to make. :)

Good morning (just),

A lot has changed since the last update. Hoople is still in the theoretical lead, but has resorted to putting in a series of rather desperate tacks to stay out of the middle of the high.

Breitling, having ditched JeSa has hooked up with Viper and kea to lead the easterners.

Shockwave has ended up at the front of the westerners, with JeSa not far behind.

All the folks to the west of the high have been gybing, some enthusiastically, some reluctantly, we are now feeling the influence of the first low, which will cause the wind to shift more southerly soon and allow us to get some easting in.

Rankings in a couple of days may be more relevant.

Good morning,

Hoople is still maintaining his lead, but still has to overcome the middle of the high.

Viper et al seem to be too far north and the western gang seem to sliding round the outside. This group is starting to see the winds going south of west, for the first time in a while, which has provoked a flurry of gybing.

Rankings which are still fairly inconsequential.

I feel for you @eliboat... nearly did the same way back in the beginning when i screwed up my routing settings....
but after several hours of , yeah lets try this east track for a flyer... i sorta came to my senses and went west.
my track is orange brushing the south islands, yours red, viper white, shockwave yellow,JeSa blue.
I even managed to sorta 'catchup' after the several hours lost - a week later.

Does look like far west group of JeSa, shockwave, et al will just pip the inner west corner cut i'm on. Looks like they're going to be in more pressure for longer.
