Tracker has been updated. Maybe you are right and something is really wrong with the boat? They lost 10 Miles in an hour, speed down to 10 knots.

I'll take everything back I said about that gybe if it is proven that they broke something or wiped out.

I don't think it was a intentional jibe from Holcim. My guess is they wiped out and now have a problem, trying to minimize the loss by going slower but lower. The ideal route is where TM are going.

Let's hope not. They do have a big of enough lead over 11th Hour meaning if they do have an issue they are going to nurse this Boat to the Finish Line and can in all likelyhood claim a safe 2nd Place.

Anyway, back to the race. TM extending quickly now. In 1,5 hour a 18 nm lead. Wind still 30-35 kts. A gybe duel along the coast coming up this night imho. Signing off.

The Information Policy on this years TOR is really bad. They at least could tell us why Holcim lost 10 Miles in an Hour. Radio Silence from HQ in Alicante. Grrrrrrr!!!!

This is nonsense! If MALIZIA wants to win Antoine Auriol needs to stop droning until Itajai, they need to stop being a "Party & Love Boat" and get serious.

Mate that has to be one of the dumbest comments of the year. 1) When you see them 'flying' the boat at warp speed across these conditions you're a dumbass to think they are not serious. 2) the other boats have shown significantly less footage and where are they? Not exactly in front of them, last time I looked.
We should all be glad we get a real window into their world the way we have vs just being able to stare at a hardly moving tracker screen. I for one love all the footage and think the other boats should be nudged to follow their lead and show more.

TM seems to have turned their media production into a bit of regular fun for themselves. Having an enjoyable task/diversion that breaks the monotony of going as fast as they can (33+ days now) looks like excellent leadership to me. If there is any loss in performance with the way they're conducting themselves, I'm sure it's worth it.

Yeah, Iker Martinez saw what a clusterfuck he did by chosing Nico and changed him out for Jean-Luc Nelias for the rest of the Race on Mapfre.

Lunven is a bad Navigator. Malizia not winning Leg 2 when they had a chance to do it was entirely his fault. Had they stuck to the other 3 Boats in the north they might have had a better Result than fourth which might have in hindsight changed this whole TOR Edition around for them.

Congrats to TM, you have won. They didn't have to do the gybe! Holcim now 6 Miles behind.

THAT'S IT! HOLCIM will not get this deficit back.
