Looks like a restart for 11th hour, Maliza, Biotherm.
Not the worst outcome for the broken boat division.

How do they know that the fix did not work?
Something about "The front tip fell off!"

Thanks for that article
In the middle of the text, there is a picture of Will Harris up the mast in daylight time; is all the lay up already on the mast? It seems to me that there is no feathering for the different layers... hmmmm... what am I missing?

Really impressive to tackle the repair at sea, I wonder if they're going to use the profile of the mast down low to make a patch or just do the laminating up top?
I suspect the top of the mast would be tapered so up top repair.

But I would have a big patch with tapered layers all wet out on deck, between 2 layers of plastic film (old freeze dried meal packages etc).

Roll up and put in your little bag beside the bosun chair.

Go up the mast, peel off inside layer of plastic and apply to mast.

Smooth out, pressing firmly.

Keep the outer layer of plastic on (protects from rain). Tape the edges of the plastic film to keep it in place and compressed.

5 minutes up the mast, job done.

Just saw the article. Only thing I missed was they had to do it in 3 batches (I guess really thick) and more blue tape on the outside to hold cover plastic in place.

Biotherm on the move again. Wouldn't be suprised if they moved into 2nd place.

I know CF dust is bad. Even while wearing a good mask after doing a lot of sanding with it I would sometimes blow my nose and see a bit of black snot (yay nose mucus doing it's thing!)

But how bad is it? Anybody see any medical studies?

I wouldn't be surprised if they earplugs aboard. CF boats are noisy and earplugs help you sleep.

i'm sure there are many boatbuilders who wish that was their total exposure to CF dust.

there is plenty here about the earplugs, specifically on Malizia. they got custom ones now!

If Will Harris was a share I would buy that stock. He has been an incredible (from a viewer persepctive) this race.
