I somehow misjudged the damage to be in bow, but that sure is a prop shaft.

Malizia has a single-skin hull bottom full length. For reference, this is a thin single-skin carbon shell supported by many stringers, like an aluminium/steel boat. I was mistaken. I didn’t see the article when I had commented on core vs no core. The method makes sense, but is vey unorthodox and prone to other issues I think. Time will tell! It would be interesting to know about the build process. My hunch is that it added a fair bit of time to the build.

Most fascinating thing for me: How HOLCIM-PRB continues to gain VMG dead downwind, not just this Leg but we saw this in Leg 1 too.
They do seem to have a mode that is very difficult for the others to match.
I would not be surprised if HOLCIM will sail almost completely parallel to the ICE GATE without having only to a limited amount of jibes.

I sure wish the TOR would post a little more data on their tracker, though it would have to come from the boats and they probably don't want to give it up. I'm always wondering about apparent wind to compare against boat speed and VMG. Malizia posts quite a bit more of it.

You are a brave man..! LOL. Malizia indeed the fastest boat in the fleet ATM but Holcim will most likely win this race and the series. I would love to see Malizia win but when the conditions lighten they are not as fast as Holcim.

They are like a 180mm travel EMTB powering downhill..! LOL Unfortunately the whole race is not in these conditions and they are not fast enough in the lighter conditions. Holcim is the boat to beat.!
