It seems mr. Geovoile’s account on SA is gone.

It's still here, it's a bit like "You can check out any time you like / But you can never leave!".

That said, he last posted in 2016 and was last seen in 2018. There was a lively discussion for a while, but when most here made it clear they liked the Forss tracker better he gave up. He is still getting a lot of the French business and doesn't need the abuse from SA.

BTW, Forss has not been seen since Covid, and like so many others of the old guard, is being missed dearly.

Match racing Holcim in the light is certainly no fun for them.
Maybe it is!

So, indeed, Boris Mercedes G Class styled Imoca has shown some qualities under certain conditions, but, Boris got his statistics a bit wrong am afraid, and Kevin's more refined, original Citroën DS styled IMOCA will win this leg, and more than by a mile !! :p:cool::D

Bear in mind that Malizia essentially drifted around for two days while they repaired the rig.

There are going to be opportunities for whoever is in second place all the way to the finish and i would prefer to be in a boat that likes running in 25 knots.

That's about what I was thinking, though 4 different sized crew members. Even just closed cell pieces like backpacking pads would be something. Belts are a good idea, a concussion alone on VG would be a real problem, eg. Idk, maybe the flat seats are to keep you from falling asleep. 😊
Any real cushy cushion disassociates your butt from the motion of the boat and ends up requiring constant bracing to keep you oriented to the boat motion. It's not as if you're sitting there reading "The Story of O" or the "Brothers Karamazov" in our bunk. You're trying to steer the boat.

In what I coin the “tracker wars”, in which SA members build much better VOR trackers imho than Geovoile, next to Forss @Volodia must be mentioned here. Parts of the java script and functionality he used, which could be code shared under a creative commons license, are now running on Geovoiles website. Which is the DTL/speed over 24 hrs/rank timeline for the leg.

The discussion we had here were on SA related to Volodia’s trackers AFAIK.

Missing both here, and others like @southerncross.

Bullshit, Geovoile published that kind of info ages ago. I have seen his work from day 1.
You can hate Geovoile, but he does it under a contract with TOR, they decide what he can publish or not.

I was late catching onto the TM podcasts but they're good entertainment. Episode 13 uploaded recently. I'm really impressed that despite all of the pressure of the race and the weather and everything else, they're able to switch off and just chat shit for half an hour or so. In their position I think I would really struggle to do that.

And of course the morale after 30-odd days at sea. It's much easier to be in high spirits when you're fighting for first place compared to sitting in fourth but still, it's really impressive.
