This is fun.
Main redaction "Zeilen" knows extacly when the fleets are running in
(Page 22)

For the non Dutch:
At Sunday 11 june 14:00 the arrival of the VO 65's is being expected
Th Imoca's will arive much later around 18:00 hours.
How little do they know about boat speed.
This info is in post 1 of this thread.

Please note too that it is mentioned in the Sailing Instructions for this leg that the Race Committee can change the course of the leg in order to manage that expected arrival. As mentioned too in the thread. So I will be awaiting them in Scheveningen, give or take an hour ETA or so. This will be the “homecoming” finish that TOR has been missing in previous legs imho in daylight and lots of crowds, hopefully.

So Herman, are you going to video the finish(es) on your phone and post it here for your faithful followers in the US and other places that do not have access to Eurovision, cannot set up a VPN, because of course TOR will not be showing it live?

If this is all true Kevin's career is done. Dare say Kev was drinking at the time, drank too much and acted inappropriately towards a girl, or worse acted unlawfully.! So poor Kev spent too much time at sea? Or was it a case of alcohol or was it part of Kev's makeup. Considering what happened when he was rescued by Jean L-cam, built a new boat and was going forward with his campaign nicely. Sounds like he has had a brain melt down on an alcohol fueled night. I am of the belief he was was drinking, not sure of any 1st hand accounts of his state when this went down?
Maybe we could just wait until it is investigated rather than speculate...

Hi Herman,

Over 1 million visitors are to be expected during the stop over. Me and my wife go by bike to avoid heavy traffic.
The start is today, I just read the VOR's aren't going to do the detour flyby in Kiel. That will explain the expected first finish by the VOR 65's. In the worst case they going to get caught by the faster Imoca's. That would be fun. Ever faster technolocigal advance in the making.

See you there!

I have planned to go the Scheveningen to watch the leg finish. And will try to post photos and / or videos here. It will be a hot day at the beach!

Place your bets, gentlemen. Top 5 (well, all of them):

1. Holcim-PRB (leveraging the extra motivation to show that they can do as well without Kevin on board)
2. 11th Hour (Cammas is a class act, although his strength is offshore not coastal racing)
3. Biotherm (if they manage not to break something)
4. Malizia (although it looks breezy after Kiel)
5. Guyot (difficult to see them on other place than DFL)

Start today 6pm CET.

Go by bike, It will be extremely crowded and cars wil be in trafficjam. Train and tram will be overloaded as well. Bike is easiest. At least that's what me and my wife are going to do.

There is "Beelden op het Lange Voorhout" as well. This year opened by our former Queen Beatrix.

Race starts in 1 hour. Great.
So the Imoca's are doing the flyby to Kiel and the VO65's take the direct rout.
Windwhisper and Team Jajo will be something to watch.

I have had my heat on since September....The phrase "hot day" is not in my vocabulary yet this year. Envious.
Ha, weather has not been great either in The Netherlands. In the past days we finally had something like sommer weather, 22 celsius and sun. That will be climing to +/- 30 C in the coming days inland and in the weekend.

Sunday at the beach in Scheveningen it will be +/- 25 C and light winds +/- 14 kts coming from SE and backing to E around 12 CEST later NE.
