Yeah. What is needed is a war to distract us from the shitshow that is the GOP.

Their "investigative" hearings have them repeatedly stepping on their dicks (here and here) are a joke. They have already indicated they may not have their budget ready by the deadline (April 15).

In addition, it's necessary to halp companies like Raytheon rotate their inventory.

I get your point.

But, I just filled up the wife's vehicle. Price was $0.20 higher than a week ago. Same station.

Of course, I have never been one to credit or blame the President, or Congress, for gas prices.
JFC - along with everything else, gas prices have been rising for 1/2 century - many people have been whining about it for their entire lives.

Get The Fuck Over It people.

Not bitching. Just commenting at the wild yoyo pricing.

Today was $3.29. Last week it was $3.09. Not long ago, it was under $3. A year ago, it was near $5.

Prices have been a whole lot higher. We have incredibly cheap gas in the US.

I just returned to Canada from a two week work assignment in one of those states in the middle of the USA.

Yes, you have incredibly cheap gas but everyone I met complained about it. But almost all vehicles on the road were large SUVs or pickup trucks. I saw almost no one bicycling or walking. There is shockingly little public transit in the USA (outside of major metropolitan areas).

All of Atlanta's suburban developers are working in town now. There are cranes everywhere. They plan to drop 5 billion dollars plus on a single development almost next door to me. I bought to walk to work. I can walk, bike, eat and drink with the car staying put in an underground garage. Atlanta has become far more biker friendly since I raised my children 30 years ago, biking all over town.

Yep. Lazy, obese, uneducated, self-centered. 'Murrica!

We were able to find a house we could afford that allowed me to walk to work (1/2 mile), my wife to walk to her office (1/2 mile in other direction), and our children could walk to school (1 mile for K-8 and 1/2 mile for HS). We have 2 grocery stores, 2 pharmacies, and a load of shops/restaurants all in walking distance. We get the oil changed in the car every 6 months (habit) and the guy always remarks on how little mileage is on our vehicles. They mostly sit.

Wait, where's all the solutions to America's inflation, crime, and all the other things the Repugnicans were bleating about? I'm not sure bringing up things that Trump did in fucking abundance to try and create a crime story about the Bidens is a very smart move. Bolding mine, weird formatting theirs.

"Mr. Comer said the financial records he obtained show that from 2015 to 2017, Biden family members — including Hunter, the president’s brother James and Mr. Biden’s daughter-in-law Hallie — and their companies collectively received $1.3 million from Mr. Walker. The memo asserted that the Biden family members received just over $1 million of that money in 2017 beginning the day after Mr. Walker received $3 million from State Energy HK Limited, in payments that the Republicans inferred were cuts of the money from the Chinese firm.
The material released by the panel did not show anything illegal or improper, and Mr. Comer conceded that he did not know the purposes of the payments or the nature of the business relationships. But he said the transactions raised important questions for his panel.

“The Oversight Committee is concerned about the national security implications resulting from President Biden’s family receiving millions of dollars from foreign nationals,” Mr. Comer said in a statement. “We will continue to follow the money trail and facts to determine if President Biden is compromised by his family’s business schemes and if there is a national security threat.”
