Damn, Home Despot…and I don’t like Lowe’s. I’ve been mom-n-pop’ing it more the past few years but there’s some stuff that’s only immediately available big-box. Menards is here too but he’s another hard righty from Wisconsin.

I have a Lowes and a Tractor Supply within a block of the Home Desperate, and a locally owned Ace closer to home than all of them. I’m sure the family that owns the Ace are hard righties like any business people in these parts. That doesn’t bother me. Bernie Marcus’ comments about layoffs if the democRAT wins, threatened before every Presidential election are what keep me out of HD. It doesn’t take long to figure out what Lowes lacks that HD has. I go there as a last resort.

Yeah tractor supply is around the way about a mile, closest of them all and independently owned; that’s one of the mom-n-pops I use most often along with a non-franchise old school place a little further that’s been here forever.

Haven't shopped in a HD for more than a decade. Up until last week, that is. They had the only shed that would maximize use in the space I have.

I have been increasingly utilizing the Ace not far from my house. It doesn't have 3,657,897,466 board feet of corkscrew 2x4s. Then again, I don't need them. They do have all the basic stuff for small DIY and is.........employee owned.
