To be fair and balanced there is a chance of dying from the vaccine. IIRC it is in the range of 1 per million. Since most of us can't really grasp what one million of anything is - 1 million days is 2,740 years. Math is hard even though they saying 1 in a million means more than a bit unusual.

We have both had all 5, no covid, no illnesses for either of us and are living normal lives including having to travel for work by flying multiple times. We do avoid the MAGA folks like the plague.

I'll take 1 in a million vs 1 in 1000 any day. Many MAGAts seem to think that since a million is greater than 1000, they'd rather go for the 1 in a Thou. I guess that's why they buy lottery tickets.

Just because 1000 x 1000 is a million? Maths is hard, so is science and common sense has flown out the window for these clowns.

We're all quite lucky Covid != Captain Trips.

I've often wondered what it would have looked like if it was (and the vaccine was effective against it). Would a 99.4% fatality rate instead of a .34% fatality rate changed any minds? At some point with cars full of dead folks blocking roads would they have thought... "Gee, this isn't good." What about 10% fatality? Would they still be antivaxx stipentons?

Or would it still be: EpochTimes has random pictures of something which proves all that actual sciencymathymedicalshit as untrue!

* .34% from https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality, deaths per 100,000 population for the USA. John Hopkins lists USA case fatality ratio at 1.1%, which is somewhat surprising to me.

The measurements are kinda funny, not all deaths are captured (witness Floriduh) and not all illnesses are captured. There are something like 1.5M excess deaths since the pandemic started. I would assume 60% + of Americans have had it, but only 110M observed cases means the mortality rate is overstated even with a higher death toll than official.

Let's says it's half the 1.1% - or .5% - that's still a damn big risk compared to daily risks we all take.

There is a legendary story in marketing involving A&W and its 1/3lb burger vs Mickey D’s 1/4 pounder. Here is the YouTube version
