Stan is hilarious. Michael Jackson in reverse.
It does appear to be working for him. Lots of gigs, lots of travel, lots of respect from woke folk.

Politics aside Stan is a good interviewer. He listens, doesn’t interrupt very often and leads a subject well. These are the reasons I like him. On the other hand meli likes him because he works at the ABC and is an Abo.

I find it too hard to take him seriously when he's on TV looking like he has a bad fake tan.

Now if I made the exact same comment about a female journo, Randomfuckwitvibes would be shouting misogynist.

Both the question and the draft constitutional amendment that will be put to voters in this year's referendum on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament are expected to become more certain later on Thursday.

Key points:

  • The final wording of the question and draft constitutional amendment on the proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament are a step closer
  • Cabinet is expected to consider the group's recommendations on Thursday morning
  • Legislation detailing the operation of the referendum passed the Senate on Wednesday night

On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met with members of the Referendum Working Group — which is made up of representatives of First Nations communities from around Australia — to iron out an agreed position on the wording.

It is expected the PM will put that proposal to cabinet this morning.

Mr Albanese put forward draft wording for both the question and the constitutional amendment in the middle of last year.

The Referendum Working Group has spent months forming a view on the wording, including weighing-up additional suggestions from the government and other experts.

Its members had considered ideas such as removing the words "executive government" from the draft amendment, but that suggestion was rejected.

Another suggestion — put forward by the Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus — sought to add words to the draft amendment aimed at reducing the risk of future legal challenges but that, too, was rejected.

Late on Wednesday, working group member Megan Davis told a press conference agreement with the government was imminent.

"We are so close, so close to finalising our advice, so the government can introduce the Constitutional Alteration Bill to parliament next week," she said.

Bob Brown renounces Australian Conservation Foundation life membership over Labor’s climate policy

Conservationist criticises ACF for working to strike a deal on safeguard mechanism and undermining the Greens’ position

Former Greens leader Bob Brown has quit his life membership of the Australian Conservation Foundation in protest after the environment group urged parliament to “strengthen and pass” a signature Albanese government climate policy.

Brown said he had returned his life membership – awarded in the 1980s for his leadership in the campaign to save Tasmania’s Franklin River – over ACF’s position on the safeguard mechanism, an industrial emissions policy that is the subject of negotiations between Labor and the Greens.

Well well well the left are at each others throats. Bob the bum basher has quit the Australian Communist conservation foundation and Lydia the lunatic has abandoned the greens. And many QLD labor back benches are getting ready to roll Anna, knowing that she is poison to their chances of reelection now.
When this voice nonsense is kicked to the curb it will be the death knell for Albo the bullshitter.
The poor simple working class fools (like meli) voted for them based on their key promise of real wages growth, And has that going for them? Thanks to ALP incompetence inflation and cost of living has skyrocked and those on lower incomes have seen their spending power go backwards since the day these idiots took office. Normaly it takes a second term for the stupid to admit their mistake and kick the cunts out. But Albo and his band of union thugs will be gone next time in a landslide.

Well here it is

A Proposed Law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.

Do you approve this proposed alteration?

Did they expand on the meaning of the word 'Recognize' under the new constitution?
Morons like Meli think it is a good thing to have one small group with disproportionate representation and influence over the Parliament. Like their Chinese idols, they have no time for the concept of democracy.
But we can be thankful for two things about Meli's type.
1/ They are in a minority
2/ She can't breed anymore.

Don't know LB. Only had time this morning so far to read just the proposed question. Don't know why you might think they need to expand on the meaning, however there probably would be some expansion on the meaning somewhere

And here's the rest, which will apparently be a new chapter to the Constitution called "Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples"

In recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia:
  1. There shall be a body, to be called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice;
  2. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice may make representations to the Parliament and the Executive Government of the Commonwealth on matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
  3. The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws with respect to matters relating to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, including its composition, functions, powers and procedures.
So that's it.

Looks like Albo got very emotional during his speech, as did Linda Burney, the Minister for Indigenous Australians.

I don't really have a problem with either of the questions and will most likely be voting for it. Not exactly sure how The Voice will change things for Indigenous people greatly, which really should be the end goal.

I hope it works but I don't know how effective it will work for the average indigenous person in remote settlements in WA, NT, SA & Qld. How will their Voices filter through to the 24 representatives on the Voice, of which very few will come from those remote settlements?

Hey @LB 15 I see your favorite Senator attended an anti-trans rally near Parliament House and got tackled to the ground by Federal Police before crawling away to join a pro-trans counter rally. Seems Senator Hanson & Senator Roberts were on the anti-trans side. Some video footage of the incident here for your entertainment.

She claims she was "Pulverised" and "assaulted" by Police.

I think she should be charged with Contempt of the Senate, or something like that, because that type of behaviour by a Senator should be treated with contempt.

It’s been referred to AFP integrity, it’ll be interesting to see how they word their clearing of the officer and whether they try and hide their joy
