Some folks need to revisit the Sermon on the Mount.

(well at least all those here legally!)
Nice post - interestingly enough this wall was built with donations to a non profit (this would be pre gofundme for you youngins). It was not without controversy, not from wanting a memorial but the design. I have never been there but have seen the traveling one which is still most moving, certainly when finding someone known.SailBlueH2O said:Always a bit of melancholy this time of year....this thread title just triggered me...never know when it pops into consciousness

Yes. The word "war" was used. That you take issue with that is no surprise. I am sure you'd be cool living in those "dicey" places.BillDBastard said:War? What war? You mean the ongoing conflict in Paraguay? The Columbian Socialist Revolution? I get that parts of Central America are a bit dicey, but full on war?
When I first heard about the design, I thought it was a stupid idea for a memorial. A black wall with names? The opposite of imaginative was my reaction.Nice post - interestingly enough this wall was built with donations to a non profit (this would be pre gofundme for you youngins). Fixerated. Must blame vegetarians.Mickey Rat said:Many of those wars were instigated and/or perpetuated by ewe and your interventionist elk you might add.![]()
You keep thinking that.BillDBastard said:What a stupid thing to say. No one side has any advantage in the IQ department.
That is the best and most powerful war memorial in existence.Nice post - interestingly enough this wall was built with donations to a non profit (this would be pre gofundme for you youngins). Lots of things have been done by my country with which I object. Same as you, I’d suspect.Mickey Rat said:Many of those wars were instigated and/or perpetuated by you and your interventionist ilk you might add.![]()

"Just the tip..."The wall reminds me of the parable about the camel's nose. (which may or may not be an old Arabic tale). It goes like this:
The camel was cold, and begged the man to let him just put his nose in the tent. The man relented, but soon, the whole camel was in his bed and refused to leave.
$5 billion for the wall is just the nose.
