Between the Foxy News/Limbaugh Shutdown and the talk of interfering with the Fed, what are the markets going to do when they open up?

Nice post - interestingly enough this wall was built with donations to a non profit (this would be pre gofundme for you youngins).  It was not without controversy, not from wanting a memorial but the design.  I have never been there but have seen the traveling one which is still most moving, certainly when finding someone known.

War? What war? You mean the ongoing conflict in Paraguay? The Columbian Socialist Revolution? I get that parts of Central America are a bit dicey, but full on war?
Yes.  The word "war" was used.  That you take issue with that is no surprise.  I am sure you'd be cool living in those "dicey" places.

When I first heard about the design, I thought it was a stupid idea for a memorial. A black wall with names? The opposite of imaginative was my reaction.

Judging by the reactions of most who have been there, I was badly wrong. This may explain my complete lack of an art career.

That is the best and most powerful war memorial in existence.

Back to the topic of "wall"

Trump never provided any evidence that the wall would be effective or efficient - it was all "out the wazoo" as is his wont.

And he still has provided no evidence for the steel slat version - he's only CLAIMED that is would be "totally effective".

That was and is just fine with the Trump base . .

Progressives, on the other hand, have conducted exhaustive studies of the economic & health impacts of M4A.

That is a key difference between modern left and right - the latter relies on half-baked ideology, and abhors facts of any kind (evolution, climate, wall, etc.)

But wait - how about a privacy hedge paid for by GoFundMe?

The wall reminds me of the parable about the camel's nose.  (which may or may not be an old Arabic tale).  It goes like this:

The camel was cold, and begged the man to let him just put his nose in the tent.  The man relented, but soon, the whole camel was in his bed and refused to leave.

$5 billion for the wall is just the nose.

Beating a dead horse but there are walls/fences in some areas deemed necessary which is included in your link - 600 miles or so.  With Trump it's all or nothing as it's his big campaign promise. Of course that promise was Mexico would pay for it.

We are already allocating over 1 billion bucks/year for the southern border.  go the gofundme!
