Starboard!
Instead, it got me down to compound seams before the rain comes
Where is that Rain?
I hope that outboard isn't really the propulsion.
Maple Bay, or the vicinity.Where is that Rain?
Outer edge of the swarm, over by the yacht club. Makes for a fun row, fresh horrors every day depending on route of approach.Where's your mooring?
That's sad to hear. Understandable - my club did the same thing - but sad to think of the respectful majority not able to walk the docks any more. The government wharf installed a locked gate at the top this month, first time I’ve seen that in BC.![]()

WTF??
One of the "red" docks?
How is anyone supposed to use it?
I still don't understand about the Gov. docks - if they are locked like marinas how can they be used? Is the Gov. selling keys to the fishing fleet and water taxis or something?Yeah, on the Harbour Authority dock beside the boat ramp, it wasn’t there a month ago. It’s sad, I have a great time walking around the still open docks along the coast and chatting up owners of the few interesting boats still around. There was a sweet looking little gaff ketch named Gormenghast I really wanted to get a look at.
Given the state of the harbour I’m not surprised, it’s a floating shanty town far more severe than False Creek ever dreamed of being. I have no clue how a locked gate at the top will prevent folks from rowing in at 2am to pillage, mind you. Strikes me as more than a little bit asinine.
I‘m not sure how this ends, but I can’t see it ending well for the handful of legitimate folks with well-kept vessels also on balls out there: even if a slip were available anywhere on the coast in under five years there’s no way I could ever justify the monthly cost of one.
Sounds like you found a boat? Or have you been trying to upgrade?Outer edge of the swarm, over by the yacht club. Makes for a fun row, fresh horrors every day depending on route of approach.
