"Apparently full of Land Rovers."

Do you have a source for that please?

"Steering failure?"

Seems possible. 10 knots NNE at the time so not weather-related.

Sure there were no Volvo's aboard?

Edit: Zooming issue, navigator asleep, Brambles Bank in the wrong place, failure to use paper charts, crew fatigue, poor seamanship, it wouldn't have shown up on radar

What happened to the mast...?

What's the ROI of this one?

Where's Wouter when you need him?

Nico says...?

Island Echo understands a mechanical malfunction could be to blame for the incident, with a hard port steer engaged.

What's with the ground track? Listed first, lost control & went into the sandbank?
[Hearsay] Suggestion that ballast system failed as the vessel heeled whilst making the turn round Brambles Bank and pilot deliberately put the vessel onto the bank rather than remain in deep water....[/Hearsay]
