The main cause of squirrel deaths in our yard seems to be the power transformers. They make a huge bang when they blow, and the evidence is a smoldering squirrel on the ground at the base of the pole. They moved the transformer and put in a squirrel-proof one, we haven't lost any since, to that cause anyhow.

Who'd of thunk it, could the Daisy BB gun be a battlefield weapon?

One of my cats is still convinced he can catch the local squirrel... It almost seems like the squirrel is taunting my cat.
We have a squirrel here that torments my dogs. He races up and down the fence with them in hot pursuit and then times it just right to jump over their heads to a tree branch. He really underestimated how high the dogs can jump and didn't factor the branch sag either. He missed being dead by about 1 inch the other day.
* squirrels are pranksters, long ago I had a pet squirrel who would jump on my golden's back and then run off before the dog could get organized. Long after the squirrel moved out the dog would warily creep by the table the squirrel used to hang out on :ROFLMAO:

I have a carry license and I do not carry because getting that license made me realize it's not worth it when I can just stay away from any trouble I might stumble into.

Why have a less than lethal 'weapon'?

Other than for training, I don't get it. You're asking for it and can't back it up: Never point a gun at something you are not willing to destroy...

Note: The below real world analog version has no multi-layered homeless clothes on, which may lead to pissed off free citizens coming at you!:

I'm not a believer in "non-lethal guns" but there are a range of non-lethal weapons that work quite well.

Tasers are probably the best known and they have a number of flaws, largely that they don't stop some people and they kill some others. Fail at both ends of the bell curve; but overall a better option than shooting people (if you don't want to kill them).

Flash bangs are 110% effective. No person can fight when they're blind and deaf and convulsing on the ground, pissing themselves. Of course, you can't be setting off stun grenades to settle a bar fight, either.
