Coville is going for the singlehanded record, right?

But... how's he doing agains the pace for the fully crewed record? Does he have a shot at that also? That would be quite an achievement alone.

Does anyone remember when did Thomas "lose" his last record attempt?

I believe in the Southern Ocean. It was always a close horse race up until then. And after rounding the horn, he still had chance, but really lost it up near Brazil and over the Equator...if memory serves me. But don't count on it.

He was "hanging in there" until close to Brazil, then a small low pressure system shot out of Brazil across his path and messed up the South East Trade winds, and he lost it there... Then the North Atlantic did not bring any miracle configuration where he could have come straight to the tip of Brittany, at full speed...

BP V and Spindrift would be at Good Hope by tomorrow, a day ahead,, he might be close to IDEC 2015, though.

It doesn't look as though that low is moving fast enough for him, he may overtake it and need to jump to the next one.
