Fast is fun. The guy standing up while trimming the chute in those conditions looks like a dumbass, safer to sit down and do his own trimming as well as having some leverage.

Not so sure sitting would give greater leverage. Standing he can put his whole body into it: legs, lower back, upper body arms & full weight. can't do that sitting.

Also the boat might be very unloaded (smooth ride) or they were getting ready to jibe.
